     What a year - did anyone mention you are, the children are, the staff are, the governors are, we are and the school is...
    OUTSTANDING!
    Thank you for indulging us in our celebrations last week. Thank you for your kind comments and we do hope you are as pleased and as proud as we are - if you have not read the report it can be read here -https://primarysite-prod-sorted.s3.amazonaws.com/clockhouse-primary-school/UploadedDocument/e31432e3-544c-4c97-833e-197b5767c0f7/clockhouse-primary-school-ofsted-report-june-2023.pdf  But there is no time for complacency around here and as we approach the last week of the year (can you believe it) we have another action packed week as Clockhouse, with still lots to do before the end of the term. 
     
    It was lovely to welcome you all into school last week for the different events I hope you enjoyed Sports Day and Open Evening.
     
    So here we go with the final week...
     
    Year 5 and 6
    Year 5 and 6 will be competing in the annual Football Cup - the Matthew Whitcombe trophy (in honour of our former pupil) on Wednesday.
     
    Year 6
    Year 6 are very much looking forward to their Activity Week this week and they have lots of exciting things planned. Please speak to teachers if you have any questions. 
     
    They are off to Adventure Island on Monday.
     
    We are very much looking forward to welcoming the children back to school on Wednesday evening for ClockFest 2023!
     
    We look forward to welcoming you to their Leavers Assembly on Thursday at 9.15am - tissues at the ready. Parents are invited for refreshments in the School Canteen with the Year 6 staff after the event on Wednesday. 
     
    Foundation Stage Fun Day
    On Wednesday we have the Foundation Stage Pirates and Princesses Fun Day to look forward to, do not forget the fancy dress costumes although these are optional!
     
    Year 1 Seaside Day
    We look forward to welcoming Year 1 families into school at 2.45 on Thursday to celebrate the end of our learning about Seasides.
     
    School Nurse Drop In
    Should you wish to speak to the School Nurse she will be available for you to 'drop in' on Tuesday 2.30pm - 3.30pm. Please call the Key Stage 2 Office to book a slot or just drop in.
     
    sQuid Accounts
    As far as is possible, please can we ask that any outstanding balances on sQuid are cleared before Friday. Following feedback, please be aware that from September we will be removing the option to have paid drinks. Water will be available and obviously the children can bring their own drinks.

    We will also be having the Dojo Disco on Friday afternoon for those that have earned their stars! This will also include class parties
     (a letter will be sent out on Monday).
     
    As we finish school on Friday, finally from all at Clockhouse we wish you a happy summer holiday and thank you for the support you have given us throughout the year in all we have tried to achieve for the good of the children and the community we serve. You really are OUTSTANDING!

    We look forward to welcoming Year 1 - Year 6 back to school on Wednesday 6th September, for an outstanding 2023/2024! Reception and Nursery join us on dates already given.

    It was another busy week as we get closer to the end of the year!
     
    We hope you enjoyed reading your child's school report and were proud to read about their year. Please do send the feedback sheets back if you have not done so already. Also may I take this opportunity to thank all those who completed the online questionnaire. Your feedback is certainly very valuable to us!
     
    Meet the Teacher
    The children will be meeting their new teacher on Monday morning and spending time in their new classrooms (unless you are in Mexico - this happened on Friday). We are sure they are all very excited about this - the staff certainly are! 

    Open Evening
    Do not forget that it is Open Evening after school on Monday, please come into school anytime between 3.30 and 5pm to look at the children's work and meet the teachers. Please also take the time to look around the school and visit your child's new classroom, their current teacher will be able to point you in the right direction. All new teachers will be in school to meet you with the exception of Miss Hanson (dates already advised to Mexico). 

    Author Visit
    As shared last week Reception - Year 3 will be visited by the author Natalie Newman. You will be able to purchase signed copied of her books after school should you wish to.

    Year  6
    We  look forward to welcoming the families of our Year 6 stars on Tuesday for their performance of High School Musical. Please be aware that performances will start promptly at 2pm and 7pm.
     
    Sports Days
    On Tuesday morning (9.15am) we look forward to welcoming families to the Key Stage 2 Sports Day.  On Wednesday (9.15am) we look forward to welcoming families to the Key Stage 1 Sports Day and on Thursday we look forward to welcoming Reception and Nursery families to Sports Day. Times are as follows, Nursery (11.00am / 2.45pm), Reception (9.15am) . Here is hoping the weather is kind to us!
     
    Cultural Day
    On Friday we will be celebrating the a variety of cultures as part of the enrichment of our  Curriculum. A letter about this can be found on School Story on Class Dojo.

    Well last week was a very busy week at Clockhouse - just the way we like it and this week is just the same! 
     
    End of Year Questionnaire - please help us help you!
    Thank you to all those who have completed the end of year questionnaire, which provides us with some great information about the school. If you have not done so already, please do take the time to complete it by following the link below (you have until Friday 7th July to complete it):
     
    School Reports
    Please be aware that your child's annual school report will be coming out via Dojo after school on Monday. If you would like a paper copy please do let teachers or the office know. For those in Reception, Year 1, Year 2 and Year 4, your child will also come home with an envelope with the statutory tests results in them.
     
    Should you wish to discuss your child’s report with myself or the class teacher, arrangements for this will be communicated with you before the end of term or can happen on 10th July at Open Evening.
     
    Year 6 results will be coming after they are received (11th July) and then checked.
     
    Catering Trial
    As per the letter that was sent out previously, we will be trialling the new arrangements for September on Monday. This means that along with Reception and Key Stage 1 children, all children in Key Stage 2 will be eligible for a free school meal on Monday.
     
    Sponsored Walk
    On Tuesday the children (and parents if they wish) will be taking part in the Sponsored Walk event, following the success of this event prior to the pandemic. The children will come home with a card showing you the laps they completed so that sponsor money can be gathered or it can be kept as a memento of the day. If the children have managed to get any sponsors, please send these into school and thank you for your support.

    We have the last of our Celebration Assemblies this week.
     
    We are looking forward to seeing many of you there:

    Friday 7th July - Brazil (9.10am) Key Stage 2 Hall

    Year 2
    We look forward to welcoming our Year 2 parents / carers on Thursday for Learn with my Child at 9.30am - 11.45am. Please come for as little or as much as you can. As with the other year groups, regrettably we are unable to accommodate younger siblings at these events.

    Please be aware of the letter that was sent out on last week regarding strike action on Wednesday and Friday of this week.
