  • Weekly reminders for week beginning 29th November 2021

    Sun 28 Nov 2021
As you know last week was a slightly quieter week at Clockhouse but this week, as we move further through the term and with December hitting on Wednesday, we are looking forward to really going to get into Christmas at Clockhouse!

    Coronavirus
As I wrote in the newsletter least week and as many of you already know, sadly we have had a number of cases of Covid 19 this term. We continues to do all we can to keep the children, the community and each other safe. As per the above letter from Havering (sent to you yesterday), staff continue to test twice weekly and many of us are getting to the time when we are eligible for our booster.

In line with the letter from Havering, we have also taken the difficult decision to go back to wearing masks in communal areas around the school from Monday for our own safety and yours. Please do talk to the children about this, if you feel this is necessary. In the interests of everyone's safety, we kindly request that you also wear masks when on school site unless you are exempt. We obviously cannot enforce this but we all do need to do our bit especially so that we can enjoy Christmas. Please help us help you! Thank you in advance for your support in this sensitive matter.

    Arts Festival
This week sees our annual Arts Festival where the children will be taking part in some focused art and music activities. The theme for this year is nature. We look forward to sharing the children's creations with you.

    A bigger and better Christmas
We are very excited to officially launch our annual Clockhouse Christmas this week.

On Friday, the children will be spending some time transforming their classrooms and the whole school into Christmas. We want to go even bigger and better than last year. This is where you come in. If you have any spare decorations that you would be willing to donate to us, we really would be most grateful. Please either give these to class teachers or hand to the main school office. Thank you in advance.

Each week up until Christmas we have lots of lovely things planned which will be integrated into the children's learning. We hope this will ensure that the children have the best time possible in the lead up to the big day.

    Winston's Winter Wonderland
Some of you may remember a very special little mouse from last Christmas. This week the children will meet him once again when Winston the mouse starts a new adventure. The new book will become a very special at Clockhouse as we move through the month of December. A daily chapter will also be posted online for you to view at home.

Is your child, or a child you know due to start Nursery in September 2022
We are looking forward to welcoming prospective parents / carers into school on Tuesday 30th November at 10.00am. Please call the school to book this or a tour later in the term. Places on each tour are limited and are filling up quickly.

Watch out for the video showing you what we got up to during this week coming your way soon. As always, the children were outstanding during our Remembrance Day Service and showed the upmost respect, whether they were laying poppies or were in classrooms. It was wonderful to see the whole school community come together virtually for this. Thank you for the lovely comments regarding the poppy displays.

    Children In Need
On Friday, we are once again supporting the very worthy cause of Children in Need whose theme this year is 'Together we can'. Together we will come together by wearing spots. In doing so we will be having a non-uniform day where we will be showing our support by coming dressed in something spotty (a small donation in the bucket is all that is needed)! Should your child have PE on this day, they can still wear something spotty for the day but will still be doing PE. Please keep this in mind when deciding what your child will wear. All donations received for this will be sent to Children in Need. Please help us support this worthy cause!
