  • Weekly reminders for week beginning 25th November 2019

    With Christmas fast approaching and the hitting of December next weekend we are gearing up for the Festive Season at Clockhouse and thankfully before all the fesitivites start we have a much quieter week!

     

    Year 2 

    Year 2 are off to Colchester Zoo on Monday. If you have not yet sent in money and consent forms please ensure this is done first thing on Monday morning.

     

    Year 6

    Year 6 have Miles to Mole visiting for a workshop on Monday afternoon. Please do take the time to talk to the childrne about this when they get home.

     

    Sport

    Good luck to the Sports Hall Athletics teams who represent the school in a Borough competition on Wednesday and Thursday.

    Well we certainly began last week in a very humbling way. All your children were outstanding during our Remembrance Day Service and showed the upmost respect. It was wonderful to see the whole school community come together. We hope you liked the video! Thank you for the lovely comments regarding the poppy displays.

     

    Thank you to you all for your overwhelming support and generosity for the very worthy cause that is Children in Need, there was certainly some fabulous costumes. As soon as we have done all the counting we will let you know how much we raised!

     

    Brain Food Breakfast Bagels

    It is hard to believe the Brain Food Breakfast Bagels and Rise So You Shine has been going for a year. Watch out for some celebrations this week.

     

    Reception - Year 6

    Please remember that the flu immunisations will be taking place on Wednesday.

     

    Year 2

    Do not forget that Year 2 have their Polar Express Day on Friday.

     

    Well-being Hub

    Following the flyer which came home earlier this term, the Well-being Hub is open to parents on Wednesday from 9-11am. Please come to the main school office to sign in.

     

    No Cost Uniform Shop

    Our No Cost Uniform Shop will be back open on Thursday after school in the Key Stage 1 ICT Suite. Please do come along as there is lots of uniform etc. to give away.

     

    Sport

    Good luck to the Netball team who play Gidea Park away on Thursday after school.

    Thank you to all those who helped make Attendance and Punctuality week a success. We hope the children enjoyed Best of British week and the children were excited to come home and talk to you about this.

     

    Remembrance Day

    On Monday we will be holding our annual Remembrance Day Service. Look out for the displays on the school fence. The children have certainly been working hard with them. Representatives from the School Parliament will be attending the service in Romford to represent the school.

     

    Year 4

    Year 4 are off to the Synagogue on Thursday. Please ensure that consent forms have been returned if you have not done so already.

     

    Year 5

    Transport for London will be visiting Year 5 on Thursday to work with them.

     

    Travelling Book Fair

    The Travelling Book Fair arrives at Clockhouse this week and will be open to families to browse and buy after school on Thursday and Friday afeter school. This will be in the Key Stage 1 hall. Please do take a look.

     

    Children In Need

    On Friday, we are once again supporting the very worthy cause of Children in Need whose theme this year is 'Do your thing'. Our thing will once again be spots. In doing so we will be having a non-uniform day where we will be showing our support by coming dressed in something spotty (a small donation in the bucket is all that is needed)! All donations received for this will be sent to Children in Need. Please help us support this worthy cause!

    It was lovely to see everyone back at school last week and hear about their half term holiday. Thank you also to all those that attended Parent's Evening, it was lovely to see you all. If you have not yet managed to meet with your child's teacher please do speak to them to make arrangements for this to happen this week.

     

    Best of British Week

    This week we will be celebrating Britain and the British Culture. We have lots of exciting things planned and are really looking forward to the street party on Friday 8th November as part this. A letter will be coming out,

     

    Amazing Attendance and Perfect Punctuality

    This week is our termly focus Attendance Week. Please make every effort to ensure that your child is in school everyday and on time! We really do need to work together to improve the children's attendance across the school. Together we CAN DO IT! What will the reward be this time and who will win?

     

    Reception and Year 1

    On Monday the Dental Outreach Team will be in school to work with children from Reception and Year 1.

     

    Year 3

    We look forward to welcoming our Year 3 parents for Learn with my Child on Thursday morning at 9.10am - 11.45. Please come for as little or as much as you can. As with the other year groups, regrettably we are unable to accommodate younger siblings at these events.

     

    Sport

    Good luck to the Tag Rugby team who take part in the annual Borough competition on Tuesday and to both the Boys and Girls Football team who take part in the Borough League on Thursday.
