    As we are getting ever closer to the end of the term, life at Clockhouse is just getting busier and busier!

     

    Argentina and Northern Ireland

    Argentina and Northern Ireland perform the last of this years Celebration Assemblies on Monday, we look forward to seeing many of you there to celebrate all the learning that they have done so far this year. The assemblies promise to be a wonderful occasion if the efforts that the children have put into practising are anything to go by. 

    Argentina - 9.05am (Key Stage 2 Hall)

    Northern Ireland - 2.50pm (Key stage 1 Hall)

     

    Year 1

    Year 1 are off to Southend on Friday. Please send consent forms and money in by Monday if you have not done so already. 


    Year 2

    Year 2 are looking forward to seeing lots of knights and princesses on Monday for their dress up day.


    We look forward to welcoming our Year 2 parents for Learn with my Child on Thursday morning at 9.30am. The morning will finish at 11.45am. Please come for as little or as much as you can. Regrettably we are unable to accommodate younger siblings at these events.


    Year 5

    On Wednesday Year 5 are off to Bower Park Academy for a day. Please ensure that consent forms are returned if you have not done so already and that you have read the letter and the children come to school with all that they need to make the day a success.


    Year 6

    We look forward to welcoming our Year 6 parents for Learn with my Child on Wednesday morning at 9.30am. The morning will finish at 11.45am. Please come for as little or as much as you can. Regrettably we are unable to accommodate younger siblings at these events.

     

    Good luck also to the four Year 6 children taking part in the Local Authority maths Quiz on Friday morning.

     

    Sponsored Walk

    On Tuesday the children (and parents if they wish) will be taking part in the Sponsored Walk event, following the success of the last 5 years.The children will come home with a card showing you the laps they completed so that sponsor money can be gathered or it can be kept as a memento for the day. If the children have managed to get any sponsors, please send these into school and thank you for your support.


    The times below for the event are a guide, we will do our very best to stick to times.

    Choir

    Good luck to the choir who take part in Bowerstock on Friday evening.

     

    PA

    The PA will be holding our inaugural Inflatable Afternoon after school on Thursday . Please be aware that wrist bands need to be purchased before the event in order to take part. Letters for band ordering can be obtained from the school office.

    Thank you to the parents and families who joined us on the Monday last week for the Celebration Assemblies of France and Italy we are sure you will agree they were a lovely occasion and we look forward to seeing more of you at these events during the term.

     

    Inset Day

    Do not forget that Monday is a staff training day and the school in closed to children. We look forward to welcoming the children back to school on Tuesday.

     

    India and Spain

    India and Spain continue with this years Celebration Assemblies on Tuesday, we look forward to seeing many of you there to celebrate all the learning that they have done so far this year.     Year 2

    Year 2 are off to Stansted Mountfitchet on Thursday. Please ensure that money and reply slips are returned by Tuesday if you have not done so already.

     

    Year 4

    Metro Bank will be in again on Tuesday to work with the children.


    We look forward to welcoming our Year 4 parents for Learn with my Child on Thursday morning at 9.30am. The morning will finish at 11.45am. Please come for as little or as much as you can. Regrettably we are unable to accommodate younger siblings at these events.

     

    Year 6

    Year 6 are off to the Junior Citizen show on Friday afternoon. Please ensure consent forms are returned by Wedensday if you have not done so already.

     

    Biker's Tea

    We look froward to welcoming you to our first Biker's Tea after school on Tuesday. There will be some interesting things going on so do come along!

     

    Wow Day

    We are very much looking forward to a special event at school on Wednesday involving the children from Year 1 to 5! Ask them what they got up to when they get home!

     

    Sport

    Good luck to the Year 2 football team who take part in the Alex Field Memorial Trophy on Tuesday. Good luck also to the Year 1 and 2 Athletics Team who take part in the Quad Kids event on Thursday.

    Well done to everyone who ensured that their children had Amazing Attendance and Perfect Punctuality last week. It was good to see and needs to now be maintained.

     

    Thank you to the parents and families who joined us on the Monday last week for the Celebration Assemblies of China and Italy we are sure you will agree they were a lovely occasion and we look forward to seeing more of you at these events during the term.

     

    Thank you also for your support with the Enterprise Day that was held last week. With your overwhelming support we raised approximately an amazing £1208.47. Huge well done to our winners - India! Thank you also for your support on Friday, with the Fathers Day sale.

     

    Maths Week

    Following the success of last years Maths Week we will once again be carry this out this week. We have lots planned for this children including fun things in classes and visitors coming into talk about the importance of maths. We are also looking forward to welcoming the Puzzle Company for some year groups to work with. Do not forget to send your pennies in for the annual Snake Coin Challenges!

     

    Japan and France

    Japan and France continue this years round of Celebration Assemblies on Monday, we look forward to seeing many of you there to celebrate all the learning that they have done so far this year. Both assemblies promise to be a wonderful occasion if the efforts that the children have put into practising are anything to go by. 

     

    Japan - 9.10am (Key Stage 2 Hall)

    France - 2.50pm (Key Stage 1 Hall)

     

    Year 6

    The Year 6 children will be learning their Life Skill for the term throughout the week which is basic First Aid. We are sure you will all agree this is so important.

     

    Year 4

    Year 4 are off to Paradise Wildlife Park on Tuesday. If money and slips have not be returned please ensure that this is done on Monday.

     

    Year 5

    We look forward to welcoming our Year 5 parents for Learn with my Child on Thursday morning at 9.30am - 11.45. Please come for as little or as much as you can. As with the other year groups, regrettably we are unable to accommodate younger siblings at these events.

     

    Key Stage 2 Choir

    Good luck to the Key Stage 2 choir who will be joining other schools at the Queens Theatre on Wednesday to put on the annual Music Festival.

     

    Sport

    We have lots of sport happening this week. Good luck to the Year 3 and 4 Athletics team who will be taking part in the annual Quad Kids event.

    Welcome back to the Year 6 children who went to Bournemouth. Hopefully you have had lots of sleep and ready for the week ahead!


    Thank you to the parents and families who joined us on the Monday last week for the celebration assemblies of South Africa and USA we are sure you will agree they were a lovely occasion and we look forward to seeing more of you at these events during the term.

     

    Amazing Attendance and Perfect Punctuality

    This week is our termly focus Attendance and Punctuality Week. Please make every effort to ensure that your child is in school everyday and on time! We really do need to work together to improve the children's attendance across the school. Together we CAN DO IT!


    Enterprise Event

    This week we once again embark on what has now become one of our Clockhouse Traditions, it is ENTERPRISE WEEK! The children will be busy creating there enterprise ideas and all those budding entrepreneurs out there will be marketing their products during the week. Enterprise Day will be Thursday 13th June. Please do not forget to send the children in with a little bit of money to make their purchases.


    China and Italy

    China and Italy continue this years round of Celebration Assemblies on Monday, we look forward to seeing many of you there to celebrate all the learning that they have done so far this year. Both assemblies promise to be a wonderful occasion if the efforts that the children have put into practising are anything to go by.

    Year 3

    Year 3 welcome people from the Tate Modern on Monday morning. This will be to take part in a London wide project in association with Steve McQueen, a very exicitng opportunity for the children.

     

    Year 6

    Year 6 will be visited by Miles the Mole on Monday afternoon. This is a workshop all about air pollution and how as a society we can do things to reduce this and improve the quality of the air they breath. Last year this was very interesting and worth while.

     

    School Nurse Drop In

    Should you wish to speak to the School Nurse she will be available for you to 'drop in' on Tuesday  2.30pm - 3.30pm. Please come to the Key Stage 2 Office.

     

    Father's Day Sale

     

    Following the success of the Mother's Day sale earlier in the year, the PA will be holding our first Father's Day sale on Friday during school time. If you wish for your child to purchase a small gift, there will be two set prices either £1.50 or £3.00, please send this into school on Friday.

     

    Sport

    Good luck to the Girls Cricket Team who has a competition on Wednesday.

    Firstly, welcome back to you all, we hope that you have all had a lovely half term and that the children are ready for the busy term ahead! We look forward to welcoming the children back to school tomorrow and hearing about your fabulous holidays.

     

    Thank you to the parents and families who joined us on the Monday before the holiday for the celebration assemblies of Uganda and Canada, we are sure you will agree they were a lovely occasion and we look forward to seeing more of you at these events during the term.

     

    South Africa and USA 

    South Africa and USA continue this years round of Celebration Assemblies on Monday, we look forward to seeing many of you there to celebrate all the learning that they have done so far this year. Both assemblies promise to be a wonderful occasion if the efforts that the children have put into practising are anything to go by.

    Year 6

    We all hope that Year 6 have a fabulous time in Bournemouth. Please remember to meet your group leader in the canteen on Monday morning. The children will be departing at 10am promptly if you wish to wave them off. Updates about the trip will be on the school blog, dojo and website.

     

    We also hope that those staying behind have a great Activity Week! If you have not done so already, please ensure money and consent forms are returned on Monday morning. The children will be going out and without written consent they will not be able to do so.
