  • Weekly reminders for week beginning 18th July 2022

    Please look out for our Hot Weather update coming out later today - it will not say a lot different to what was posted on Class Dojo on Friday evening.
     
    Can you believe it is the last week of the year!
     
    It was lovely to welcome you all into school last week for the different events I hope you enjoyed Sports Day and Open Evening.
     
    So here we go with the final week - please be aware with the expected heat any of the below is subject to change and we will of course update you with regards to this.
     
    Canada
    Canada are off to the Cinema on Tuesday for their reward for winning Amazing Attendance and Perfect Punctuality Week. If permission slips have not been returned yet please ensure that this is returned to school on Monday.
     
    Year 3
    Year 3 are off to Legoland on Wednesday. If money and permission slips have not been returned yet please ensure that this is returned to school on Monday.
     
    Year 5 and 6
    Whilst it is unlikely to go ahead and may move to a different day, Year 5 and 6 are meant to compete in the annual Football Cup - renamed the Matthew Whitcombe trophy (in honour of our former pupil) on Tuesday.
     
    Year 6
    Year 6 are very much looking forward to their Activity Week this week (which started on Friday_ and they have lots of exciting things planned. Please speak to teachers if you have any questions. 
     
    We look forward to welcoming you to their Leavers Assembly on Wednesday.
     
    Parents will need their tissues at the ready for the Year 6 Leavers Assembly on Wednesday at 9.15am. Parents are invited for refreshments in the School Canteen with the Year 6 staff after the event on Wednesday. This will be followed by their leavers dinner also on Wednesday. Please make sure that money is on your Squid Account if you want your child to have this.
     
    We are very much looking forward to welcoming the children back to school on Wednesday evening for ClockFest 2022!
     
    Foundation Stage Fun Day - subject to change and adaptation
    On Tuesday we have the Foundation Stage Pirates and Princesses Fun Day to look forward to, do not forget the fancy dress costumes although these are optional!

    Please look out for the July and final newsletter of the year this week.

    We will also be having the Dojo Disco on Thursday afternoon for those that have earned their stars! This will also include class parties
     (a letter will be sent out on Monday).
     
    Finally from all at Clockhouse we wish you a happy summer holiday  and thank you for the support you have given us throughout the year in all we have tried to achieve for the good of the children and the community we serve.

    We look forward to welcoming Year 1 - Year 6 back to school on Monday 5th September, for a great 2022/2023! Reception and Nursery join us on dates already given.

  • Weekly reminders for week beginning 11th July 2022

    As we begin the penultimate week of the year (can you believe it) we have another action packed week as Clockhouse, with still lots to do before the end of the term. 
     
    We hope you enjoyed reading your child's school report and were proud to read about their year. Please do send the feedback sheets back if you have not done so already. Also may I take this opportunity to thank all those who completed the online questionnaire. Your feedback is certainly very valuable to us!
     
    Thank you to everyone who came to support OCA - wow what a wonderful community you are. We hope you all had a wonderful time! 
     
    Meet the Teacher
    The children will be meeting their new teacher on Monday morning and spending time in their new classrooms. We are sure they are all very excited about this - the staff certainly are! This will not be the case if your child is moving to Japan or India due to the teacher not being available. This will take place before the end of the term - Japan - 15th July and India - 19th July.

    Open Evening
    Do not forget that it is Open Evening after school on Monday, please come into school anytime between 3.30 and 5pm to look at the children's work and meet the teachers. Please also take the time to look around the school and visit your child's new classroom, their current teacher will be able to point you in the right direction. All new teachers will be in school to meet you with the exception of Miss Watkins (Japan) and Mrs Jones (India) again they will be available after school on 15th July (Japan) and 19th July (India).

    Year  6
    We  look forward to welcoming the families of our Year 6 stars on Monday for their performance of Matilda. Please be aware that performances will start promptly at 2pm and 7pm.
     
    They are also off to Adventure Island on Friday. If consent forms and money have not been returned, please do so by Monday at the latest.

    Sports Days
    On Tuesday morning (9.15am) we look forward to welcoming families to the Key Stage 2 Sports Day.  On Wednesday (9.15am) we look forward to welcoming families to the Key Stage 1 Sports Day and on Friday we look forward to welcoming Reception and Nursery families to Sports Day. Times are as follows, Nursery (11.00am / 2.45pm), Reception (9.15am) . Here is hoping the weather is kind to us!
     
    Bastille Day
    On Thursday we will be celebrating the French Day of Bastille Day as part of the enrichment of our French Curriculum. A letter about this can be found on School Story on Class Dojo.

    Well last week was a very busy week at Clockhouse - just the way we like it and this week is just the same!

    Sadly we have not been able to restore our previous school Facebook Page, but we know this is an important platform to share all the wonderful things the children get up to so we have created a new account!

    End of Year Questionnaire - please help us help you!
    Thank you to all those who have completed the end of year questionnaire, which provides us with some great information about the school. If you have not done so already, please do take the time to complete it by following the link below (you have until Friday 8th July to complete it):
     
    School Reports
    Please be aware that your child's annual school report will be coming out via Dojo after school on Monday. If you would like a paper copy please do let teachers of the office know. For those in Reception, Year 1, Year 2 and Year 4, your child will also come home with an envelope with the statutory tests results in them.
     
    Should you wish to discuss your child’s report with myself or the class teacher, arrangements for this will be communicated with you before the end of term or can happen on 11th July at Open Evening.
     
    Year 6 results will be coming out later in the week.
     
    Sponsored Walk
    On Tuesday the children (and parents if they wish) will be taking part in the Sponsored Walk event, following the success of this event prior to the pandemic. The children will come home with a card showing you the laps they completed so that sponsor money can be gathered or it can be kept as a memento of the day. If the children have managed to get any sponsors, please send these into school and thank you for your support.

    Year 2
    Year 2 will be taking part in a Sun Safety Workshop on Friday. Please do talk to them about what they have learned when they return home.
     
    Orange Day
    On Friday we will be hosting ‘Orange Day’ to support the very worthwhile and local charity - St Francis Hospice. As a community I am very aware that this amazing place has touched many of our lives in different ways including my own.

    To show our support for this, for a small donation, we ask that the children come to school in non-uniform including something orange - this can be a small as a hair clip, a pattern on socks, or something orange on a top etc. Can we turn Clockhouse orange for the day?

    For those of you attending, do not forget the Sports Presentation Evening at 7pm on Thursday evening
