  • Weekly reminders for week beginning 1st April 2019

    After all that went on last week, we have a quieter week at Clockhouse as we get closer to the Easter Holiday. Thank you to all those who came to the book fair last week, we hopw you found what you were looking for.

     

    Nursery and Reception

    We are very excited to have the Farm visiting us once again this year. They will be coming to Early Years on Friday.

     

    Year 3

    We look forward to welcoming our Year 3 parents for Learn with my Child on Thursday morning at 9.10am - 11.45. Please come for as little or as much as you can. As with the other year groups, regrettably we are unable to accommodate younger siblings at these events.

     

    Sport

    Good luck to the Netball Team who take part the the finals day on Monday.

    After a slightly quieter week at Clockhouse, we are back to normal with another busy week ahead of us.

     

    Book Week

    As you will have seen from the letter which came home last week, this week sees our annual book week, where the children will be taking part in lots of exciting activities and you are invited in to share books with your child.

     

    As part of the week, the travelling book fair come to Clockhouse once again. The book fair will be open Thursday 28th and Friday 29th March after school in the Key stage 1 hall. Please feel free to come and browse as well as purchase.


    Year 4

    We look forward to welcoming our Year 4 parents for Learn with my Child on Thursday morning at 9.10am - 11.45. Please come for as little or as much as you can. As with the other year groups, regrettably we are unable to accommodate younger siblings at these events.

     

    Mother's Day

    Following the success of last year, the PA will be holding another Mother's Day sale on Friday during school time. If you wish for your child to purchase a small gift please send them to school with wither £1.50 or £3.00 so that they can purchase a gift.

     

    No Cost Uniform Shop

    Our No Cost Uniform Shop will be back open on Thursday after school in the Key Stage 1 ICT Suite. Please do come along as there is lots of uniform etc. to give away.

     

    Sport

    Good luck to the Girls Football team who take part in the next round of the cup competition on Tuesday against Upminster. This is at home, so please do come along to cheer the girls on if you can. Good luck also to the Gym team who take part in the Key Steps Competition (hosted by Clockhouse) on Thursday.

    We have a slightly quieter week this week but are still looking forward to everything that is happening!

     

    Year 5

    School Nurse Drop In

    Should you wish to speak to the School Nurse she will be available for you to 'drop in' on Tuesday 2.30pm - 3.30pm. Please come to the Key Stage 2 Office.

     

    Sport

    Good luck to the Netball team who play Parklands Junior (away) on Tuesday and to the Year 5 Orienterring Team who take part in a Borough competition on Thursday. Good luck also to the Gym team who take part in the Key Steps Competition (hosted by Clockhouse) and to the boys Football team who play St Josephs (home) both on Friday.

    Year 6 Spelling Approach

    Well done and thank you for your support last week!

     

    Year 6

    From Monday and throughout the week, the Year 6 children will be sitting Mock SATs tests. Please speak to your child's class teacher after the tests if you wish to know how they got on do that you can further support them at home - every bit really does help!

     

    Year 5

    The final meeting for the Condover Hall residential visit is taking place on Wednesday at 5pm. This will be in the Key Stage 1 hall.

     

    Comic Relief

    On Friday we will be supporting Comic Relief, please remember that for a small donation we ask that the children come to school dressed in something red or with red on.


    Sport

    Good luck to the swimming team who take part in the borough annual Swimming Gala on Tuesday afternoon and to the Year 2 football team who have a competition on Thursday.

    We hope that the children enjoyed We are... week and all the different activities. They certainly proved to be fantastic Clockhouse ambassadors and were highly commended by school staff throughout the week as well as members of the community. Thank you also for the great costumes, the children certainly seemed inspired and enjoyed our We are Clockhouse Festival on Friday!

     

    Thank you all for your attendance at Parents Evening. The teachers enjoyed meeting with you and your child and discussing their progress etc. This partnership is so valuable in ensuring that every child is enabled and supported both at home and school to be the best that they can be.

     

    Amazing Attendance and Perfect Punctuality

    This week is our termly focus Attendance and Punctuality Week. Please make every effort to ensure that your child is in school everyday and on time! We really do need to work together to improve the children's attendance across the school. Together we CAN DO IT!

     

    World Book Day

    As we are sure you are already aware it is World Book Day on Thursday. For this we have asked that the children come to school dressed as a book character of their choice. Any questions please ask your child's class teacher.

     

    Parent Council

    The Parent Council will be meeting on Thursday morning at 9. If you wish to come along to find out more about what they do or ask any questions, please come to the Key Stage 2 office and join them.

     

    Greenland Trip

    Greenland are off to Barleylands on Friday.

     

    Sport

    Good luck to the Year 3 and 4 Tag Rugby team who have a competition on Tuesday. Also good luck to the boys Football Team who play La Salette at home on Wednesday - all support welcome!
