  • Weekly reminders for week beginning 16th July 2018

    Well after what must have been the busiest week at Clockhouse of the whole year, we have another very busy week to end the year on a high!

     

    On behalf of all at Clockhouse, we thank you for your amazing support last week, we hope you enjoyed all the different events as much as we all did, the children were certainly delighted to welcome you all to school for so many different things. Thank you to all those that have sent in Sponsor Money for the Sponsored Walk, please keep it coming if you still have it to bring in.


    Open Evening

    Do not forget that it is Open Evening after school on Monday, please come into school anytime between 3.30 and 5pm to look at the children's work and meet the teachers. Please also take the time to look around the school and visit your child's new classroom, their current teacher will be able to point you in the right direction.

     

    The children will be meeting their new teachers on Monday morning and are spending the morning in their new classrooms.

     

    Year 6

    We have our Year 6 Leavers Disco in Tuesday evening (6 - 7.30pm). This will be in the Key Stage 2 hall.

     

    Parents will need their tissues at the ready for the Year 6 Leavers Assembly on Thursday at 9.15am. Parents are invited for refreshments in the School Canteen with the Year 6 staff after the event on Thursday. This will be followed by their leavers dinner on Thursday. Please make sure that money is on your Squid Account if you want your child to have this.

     

    Year 5 and 6

    Year 5 and 6 compete in the annual Mr Len Cup on Wednesday morning in memory of our much loved Caretaker.

     

    Foundation Stage Fun Day

    On Wednesday we have the Foundation Stage Pirates and Princesses Fun Day to look forward to, do not forget the fancy dress costumes!

     

    Sport

    For those of you attending, do not forget the Sports Presentation Evening at 7pm on Monday evening. This will be followed by the PE Leaders reward day at the YMCA on Tuesday. Please send in consent forms if you have not done so already.

     

    A huge good luck to the school netball team who play in the finals of the borough cup on Wednesday.

    We will also be having the Dojo Disco on Thursday afternoon for those that have earned their stars! This will also include class parties.

     

    Please remember that as Friday is the last day of term, the children can come to school in non-uniform.

     

    Finally from all at Clockhouse we wish you a happy summer holiday and thank you for the support you have given us this year in all we have tried to achieve for the good of the children and the community we serve.

     

    We look forward to welcoming you back to school on Wednesday 5th September, for a great 2018/2019!

    Thank you to the parents and families who joined us on the Monday last week for the Celebration Assemblies of Peru and Scotland we are sure you will agree they were a lovely occasion. These were the last of our Celebration Assemblies for the year, well done to all the children, staff, parents and families.

     

    Thank you all for your support with last weeks Sponsored Walk. It was lovely to see so many families join their children on the field. Please remember to send sponsor money and forms into school as soon as possible.

     

    We certainly have a busy week ahead of us and are looking forward to welcoming many of you to Clockhouse during the coming week.

     

    Annual Reports to Parents

    The children will be coming home with their reports on Monday. This will also include a letter about classes for next year. Please do take the time to return the feedback form and the questionnaire as your views are important to us and only help us to improve.

     

    Year 4

    Year 4 are off to Paradise Wildlife Park on Monday. Please ensure money and permission slips are returned first thing Monday morning if you have not done so already.

     

    Year 6

    We look forward to welcoming the families of our Year 6 stars on Tuesday for their performance of Beauty and the Beast. Please be aware that performances will start promptly at 1.30pm and 7pm.


    Wednesday

    Following England’s success at the weekend and to show our support for the team, on Wednesday the children can come to school dressed in red and white! It would be great to see the parents join in as well!


    Choir

    Good luck to the choir who will be performing at Bowerstock on Thursday.


    Sports Days

    On Tuesday morning (9.15am) we look forward to welcoming families again to the Key Stage 1 Sports Day. On Wednesday we look forward to welcoming Reception and Nursery families to Sports Day. Times are as follows, Nursery (11.00am / 2.45pm), Reception (9.15am) and on Thursday (9.30am) we look forward to welcoming families again to the Key Stage 2 Sports Day. Here is hoping the weather is kind to us!

    As we are getting ever closer to the end of the term, life at Clockhouse is just getting busier and busier!

     

    Peru and Scotland

    Peru and Scotland perform the last of this years Celebration Assemblies on Monday, we look forward to seeing many of you there to celebrate all the learning that they have done so far this year. The assemblies promise to be a wonderful occasion if the efforts that the children have put into practising are anything to go by.

    Peru - 9.05am (Key Stage 2 Hall)

    Scotland - 2.50pm (Key stage 1 Hall)


    Year 6

    Year 6 have a busy week ahead of them!


    Year 6 are off to Adventure Island on Monday. Please ensure that consent and money comes in first thing on Monday morning if you have not done so already.


    On Thursday, they will be basic doing first aid training.

     

    The Year 6 children are off to the Havering Junior Citizen event on Friday afternoon. Please ensure that permission slips have been returned if you have not done so already.

     

    Good luck also to the four Year 6 children taking part in the Local Authority maths Quiz on Friday morning.


    Year 5

    Each Year 5 class is off to Bower Park Academy for a day this week (Monday - Japan, Wednesday - China and Thursday - India). Please ensure that consent forms are returned if you have not done so already and that you have read the letter and the children come to school with all that they need to make the day a success.

     

    Year 3

    Year 3 are off to the Good Shepherd Church on Wednesday. Please ensure consent forms are returned.


    Sponsored Walk

    On Tuesday the children (and parents if they wish) will be taking part in the Sponsored Walk event, following the success of the last 4 years. There may well be a few obstacles along the way as well. The children will come home with a card showing you the laps they completed so that sponsor money can be gathered or it can be kept as a memento for the day. If the children have managed to get any sponsors, please send these into school and thank you for your support.

    Summer Reading Challenge

    The Library Service will be in school on Wednesday to launch this year's Summer Reading Challenge. Please do take the time to get involved, it really is a great opportunity.

     

    PA

    The PA will be holding our inaugural Inflatable Afternoon after school on Wednesday. Please be aware that wrist bands need to be purchased before the event in order to take part. Letters for band ordering can be obtained from the school office.
