  • Weekly reminders for week beginning 29th January 2018

    We had a very busy week last week, with lots of different opportunities for the children.

     

    We have another busy week ahead.

     

    National Storytelling Week

    As you already know this week is National Story Telling Week and at Clockhouse we are taking part in this with lots of exciting things for the children to enjoy. On Monday and Tuesday we have our very own Storyteller coming in to work with the children from Reception to Year 6. Please do make sure you have sent your £1 in for this experience. We know that it is all too easy to forget but the £1 or lack of them soon mount up. Your contributions are gratefully received.

     

    Nursery and Reception

    Both Nursery and Reception welcome the travelling zoo on Wednesday with lots of interesting animals coming to Clockhouse. Please speak to a member of school staff should you have any questions if you have not done so already.

     

    Year 3

    Year 3 are off to Collier Row on Wednesday, please ensure that permissions slips are returned by Monday if you have not done so already.

     

    Key Stage 2 Choir

    We are very pleased that the Key Stage 2 Choir are once again off to sing at the O2. On Thursday they will join with thousands of other children from London to take part in the Young Voices concert. A very exciting opportunity.

     

    Year 6

    On Friday Year 6 welcome a travelling workshop - The Riot Act. They have been to school previously and the children certainly got a lot out of it.

     

    Sport

    Good luck to the netball team who play St. Peters (Brentwood) away on Monday evening. Good luck also to the girls football team who play Harrow Lodge on Tuesday at home and take part on a competition on Thursday. A final good luck to the netball team who take part in the Surrey Storm netball tournament on Friday.

    Another good week was had a Clockhouse last week and as always we thank you for the support you give us with all that we do! We have another busy week ahead.


    Governor Day

    Our Governors will be in school on Tuesday and will be in the playground at the start and end of the day, please do take the time to speak to them should you wish to.


    Clockhouse visit to the Bett Exhibition

    Mr Bottrill, Mr Pavan, Mrs O'Connor and some of our digital leaders are off to visit the Bett Exhibition on Wednesday. This is to investigate new technologies that we could have in school in the future - a very exciting opportunity.

     

    Year 5

    The final meeting for the Condover Hall residential visit is taking place on Wednesday at 5pm. This will be in the Key Stage 1 hall.

     

    Year 6

    We look forward to welcoming our Year 6 parents for Learn with my Child on Thursday morning at 9.30am - 11.45. Please come for as little or as much as you can. As with the other year groups, regrettably we are unable to accommodate younger siblings at these events.

     

    Year 3, 4, 5 and 6

    The Police will be visiting Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 on Friday to discuss safety. Please do take time to talk to the children about this.

     

    Sport

    Good luck to the boys football team who take part in a competition on Wednesday and again on Thursday afternoon.

    Another good week was had a Clockhouse last week and as always we thank you for the support you give us with all that we do! We have another busy week ahead.

     

    Special Dinner Day - Thursday

    Do not forget that we have another special dinner day on Thursday.

    We would like as many children as possible to have school dinner today so even if your child does not normally have school dinners, why not try it on Thursday.

    The more children we get having dinner the more funding we get for our school!

     

    Reception, Year 1 and Year 2

    The Police will be visiting Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 on Friday to discuss safety. Please do take time to talk to the children about this.

     

    Sport

    Good luck to the Boccia team who take part in the annual Borough competition on Thursday.

  • Weekly reminders for week beginning 8th January 2018

    It was lovely to welcome everyone back last week and we were pleased to hear about everyone's Christmas Holidays. Thank you for the very positive start we have made to the new term - the children were certainly returned ready and eager for learning.

     

    Some children still do not have the necessary equipment they require - full P.E. kits, water bottles, coats, home learning, reading books and diaries and anything else they need. Please ensure these are all in school by Monday. Please can we also remind you of the importance of full school uniform and that this along with coats are clearly named.

     

    Please remember that clubs restart this week unless you have been advised otherwise.

     

    Reading

    Please can we also take this opportunity to remind that Year Group Ready, Steady Read sessions take place on the following days:

    Reception - Thursday (8.50am)

    Year 1 - Tuesday (8.50am) and Thursday (3.10pm)

    Year 2 - Tuesday (8.50am) and Thursday (3.10pm)

    Year 3 - Friday (8.50am)

    Year 4 - Wednesday (8.50am)

    Year 5 - Wednesday (8.50am)

    Happy New Year everyone!

     

    We all hope that you have had a fantastic Christmas and that 2018 has got off to a good start for you all! On behalf of all the staff a huge thank you for all the lovely cards and gifts we received prior to the Christmas break.

     

    That time has come and as we are sure you are aware and we are back to school on Wednesday (3rd January). Tomorrow is a staff training day so we look forward to seeing everyone bright and early on Wednesday to hear about their holidays and adventures.
