  • Weekly reminders for week beginning 27th March 2023

    Well, it is almost impossible to believe that we are in the final week of the Spring term and at the end of another successful term at Clockhouse. As always we thank you for your unreserved support in all that we do. I am sure you are ready for the holiday and a good break come Thursday.
     
    Easter Bonnet Parade
    The annual Easter Bonnet Parade is definitely a Clockhouse tradition for Reception and Nursery. We look forward to welcoming Reception families on Tuesday and Nursery families on Thursday to share this with us. Bonnets at the ready!
     
    Year 2
    The Year 2 children are off to the Church on Tuesday. Please ensure that consent forms are returned by Monday at the latest.
     
    We look forward to welcoming our Year 2 parents / carers on Thursday for Learn with my Child at 9.10am - 11.45. Please come for as little or as much as you can. As with the other year groups, regrettably we are unable to accommodate younger siblings at these events.
     
    Year 6
    For those parents / carers of children attending Bournemouth, please do not forget that there is a meeting regarding final arrangements on Wednesday (29th March) at 5pm in the Key Stage 1 Hall. Your attendance really is important.
     
    Greenland 
    We look forward to welcoming our Greenland parents / carers on Thursday for Learn with my Child at 2pm. 
     
    Winners!
    Many classes will be having their 'Winners!' attendance reward this week. This has been posted on Class Story for those who have got a reward. Please speak to Class Teachers if you have any concerns or questions.
     
    OCA Easter Egg Roll
    Please remember that on Wednesday, each class will be taking part in the OCA Easter Egg Roll. To enter your child needs to bring in £1's worth of 10p's (10 x 10p's in total). The closest coin to the egg after all have been rolled wins the egg. OCA provide a great support to the school so please do help them help us, help your children by getting involved. Thank you in advance and good luck everyone!

    All that leaves me to do is wish you a very happy Easter and Easter holiday from us all when it arrives. The children finish school on Thursday (Friday is a staff training day) and we look forward to seeing you after the break on Monday 17th April. Enjoy lots of chocolate!

    Happy Mother's Day to everyone celebrating today, we hope you all have a wonderful day!
     
    Well done to all those who took part in Comic Relief and helped us raise money for this worthwhile charity. I will of course communicate the final amount with you in due course. Everyone certainly looked fabulous in red and there were a few heroes amongst us!
     
    Here is to another good week ahead!
     
    Nursery
    We are looking forward to welcoming Nursery parents on Monday and Thursday for Learn with My Child.
     
    Year 5
    Year 5 have Miles to Mole visiting virtually for a workshop on Tuesday. Please do take the time to talk to the children about this when they get home.
     
    Some of Year 5 children are off to London on Friday to take part in The Brilliant Club. This is a really exciting opportunity. Individuals has already had letter have been sent out for this. 
     
    Year 6
    Year 6 are off to Bower Park Academy on Thursday to watch a drama show. If you have not returned consent forms, please do so by Tuesday at the latest.
     
    School Nurse Drop In
    Should you wish to speak to the School Nurse she will be available for you to 'drop in' on Tuesday 2.30pm - 3.30pm. Please call the Key Stage 2 Office to book a slot or just drop in.
     
    Group Photos
    Please be aware that class group photos will be being taken on Wednesday - uniform and best smiles at the ready! If your class has PE on Wednesday, Class Teachers will let you know the change of day for PE for this week via Class Dojo.
     
    Things to be aware of
    School closes for the Easter Holiday on 30th March. We will look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday 17th April.

    Another good week was had last week and we have another busy week ahead planned at Clockhouse.
     
    Year 2
    On Wednesday, Year 2 will be taking part in a workshop as part of their theme 'Let's Go To China'. Thank you to all those who have sent in contributions on paid on sQuid. Please do so on Monday, if you have not done so yet.
     
    Year 4
    Year 4 are off to the Science Museum on Wednesday. Please ensure consent forms and contributions are returned on Monday if you have not done so already.
     
    Year 6
    We look forward to welcoming our Year 6 parents / carers on Wednesday for Learn with my Child at 9.10am - 11.45. Please come for as little or as much as you can. As with the other year groups, regrettably we are unable to accommodate younger siblings at these events.
     
    On Thursday afternoon, Year 6 will be taking part in a Road Safety Workshop. Please do follow this up with them at home.
     
    Strike Action
    Please be aware of the letter that was sent out on Friday regarding strike action on Wednesday and Thursday of this week. The school will be open as normal on Wednesday. On Thursday the following classes will be closed:

    Travelling Book Fair
    The Travelling Book Fair arrives at Clockhouse this week and will be open to families to browse and buy after school on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday after school. This will be in the Key Stage 1 hall. Please do take a look. Please remember the book fair is cashless, should you wish to make a purchase.
     
    Our Clockhouse Association (OCA) - Mother's Day Sale
    Following previous successes, OCA will be holding another Mother's Day sale on Friday during school time. All gifts will be £1.50. If you wish for your child to purchase a small gift please send them to school with a maximum of £3.00 so that they can purchase a gift.
     
    Comic Relief
    On Friday we will be supporting Comic Relief, please remember that for a small donation (if possible) we ask that the children come to school dressed in something red or with red on.
     
    Year 3
    We are looking forward to welcoming Year 3 Parents / Carers into school on Friday at 2.40pm for the Cake Sale.
     
    Sport
    Good luck to the Sitting Volleyball Team who are representing the school on Tuesday.

    The School Fete will be taking place on 17th June - get the date in the diary.

    Well done and thank you for your support last week! It was a busy week. We hope the children enjoyed  World Book Day and everything else they experienced last week - we certainly did! 
     
    Year 3
    Year 3 are off to the Natural History Museum on Tuesday. Please ensure consent forms and contributions are returned on Monday if you have not done so already.
     
    Year 5
    The final meeting for the Condover Hall residential visit is taking place on Wednesday at 5pm. This will be in the Key Stage 2 hall.

    Year 4, 5 and 6
    The children from Year 4, 5 and 6 will be taking part in an Air Pollution Workshop on Thursday, please do talk to the children about this and what they have learned. 

    Sport
    Good luck to the Year 2 Indoor Athletics team who compete on Thursday.

    The Book Fair will be in school from 14th March. Information will be coming out soon, please be aware that this book fair is cashless.
