  • Weekly reminders for week beginning 26th February 2018

    We hope that the children enjoyed community week and all the different activities. They certainly proved to be fantastic Clockhouse ambassadors and were highly commended by school staff throughout the week as well as members of the community.

     

    Thank you all for your attendance at Parents Evening. The teachers enjoyed meeting with you and discussing the children. This partnership is so valuable in ensuring that every child is enabled and supported both at home and school to be the best that they can be.

     

     

    Amazing Attendance and Perfect Punctuality

    This week is our termly focus Attendance Week. Please make every effort to ensure that your child is in school everyday and on time! We really do need to work together to improve the children's attendance across the school. Together we CAN DO IT!

     

    Phonics Workshop - Year 1

    Miss Ettridge and Mrs Ingram will be hosting a workshop to help parents support thier children at home with develope their phonic skills. There will be 3 workshops (all the same) taking place on Tuesday.

     

    World Book Day

    As we are sure you are already aware it is World Book Day on Thursday. For this we have asked that the children come to school dressed as a book character of their choice. Any questions please ask your child's class teacher.

     

    Year 2

    We look forward to welcoming our Year 2 parents for Learn with my Child on Wednesday morning at 9.30am. The morning will finish at 11.45am. Please come for as little or as much as you can. Regrettably we are unable to accommodate younger siblings at these events.

     

    Year 3

    We look forward to welcoming our Year 3 parents for Learn with my Child on Thursday morning at 9.30am. The morning will finish at 11.45am. Please come for as little or as much as you can. Regrettably we are unable to accommodate younger siblings at these events.

     

    Year 5

    Some of our Year 5 children will be taking part in Cycling Proficiency this week. If you have had a letter regarding this, please ensure that this is returned and the required equipment is brought to school on Monday.

     

    Sport

    Good luck to the Netball team who take part in the High 5 Netball competition on Tuesday afternoon.

    Welcome back everyone, we hope you all had a lovely week. We are looking forward to hearing about your holiday tomorrow and seeing everyone back and ready and raring to go!

     

    We have a busy term ahead so we hope everyone is ready to learn tomorrow.

     

    Please remember that school starts at 8.55am and learning really does start straight away. Teachers are available from 8.50am. We really need to improve our attendance this term so please help us out by ensuring that children are in school everyday and on time unless it really is unavoidable!

     

    Community Week

    We have a busy but exciting week with all the children from Year 1 to Year 6 taking part in our annual Community Week.

    Throughout the week the children will be doing lots of different activities from thinking about our school values and British Values to learning about international culture, from doing activities to improve our local community to helping and working with children of all different ages across the school.

    Please ensure that if you have not returned the permission slip for this week it is returned by Monday so that the children can take part in certain activities.

     

    School Nurse Drop In

    If you have any issues, worries or concerns that you would like to talk to our School Nurse, Cathie Forrester about, please drop in to the main office between 2:30pm and 3:30pm on Tuesday 20th February, when she will be available to talk to you in confidence.

     

    Year 3, 4, 5 and 6

    The Police will be visiting Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 on Wednesday to discuss safety issues. Please do take time to talk to the children about this.

     

    Year 5

    The Year 5 children will be launching their new theme about Victorians with a Victorian Day on Friday - we look forward to seeing some fabulous costumes. Please ensure contributions are sent in.

     

    Parents Evening (Nursery - Year 6)

    Please do not forget that it is Parents Evening on Tuesday and Wednesday, please see your child's class teacher on Monday if you need to book an appointment.

     

    Sport

    Good luck to the Netball team who play Scotts Primary (away) on Wednesday and to the boys Football team who take part in the next stage of the Premier League Competition on Thursday.

    As the last week of half term approaches we have another busy week at Clockhouse!


    Nursery and Reception

    Both Nursery and Reception look forward to welcoming parents and carers this week to review the children's learning as well as carry out activites to do with Chinese New Year. Please speak to a member of staff if you are unsure of your time slot.


    Safer Internet Day

    Tuesday is national Safer Internet Day and the children will be learning about this in school. Please do take the time to talk to them about this very important subject.

     

    Year 5

    We look forward to welcoming our Year 5 parents for Learn with my Child on Thursday morning at 9.30am - 11.45. Please come for as little or as much as you can. As with the other year groups, regrettably we are unable to accommodate younger siblings at these events.

     

    Year 6

    The Police will be visiting Year 6 on Friday to discuss safety issues. Please do take time to talk to the children about this.

     

    Forest Schools

    Some of you will have received a letter last week inviting your child to take part in this round of Forest Schools. Please do send the slip back ASAP and we look forward to seeing you at the meeting after school on Tuesday.

     

    Special Dinner Day

    We have another special dinner day on Friday to celebrate Pancake Day.

     

    Sport

    Good luck to the boys football team who play Benhurst away and to the girls football team who play St Josephs at home both on Tuesday. Good luck also to the girls football team who play in a competition on Thursday afternoon. A final good luck to the Tag Rugby team who play St. Peters (Brentwood) away on Friday.
