  • Weekly reminders for week beginning 27th November 2017

    With Christmas fast approaching and the hitting of December this week we are gearing up for the Festive Season at Clockhouse!

     

    Parent Council

    Please come along to talk about ways to improve our school at our Parent Council Meeting on Thursday as 9am.

     

    Cake Sale

    Friday sees the Christmas Fundraising Day and the annual Cake Sale. Please send any cakes into school either on or before Friday as well as giving the children a small amount to buy some cakes!

     

    Sport

    Good luck to the Sports Hall Athletics team who represent the school in a Borough competition on Wednesday and to the Netball team who play Crownfield away on Thursday. Good luck also to the gym team who take part in a competition on Friday.

     

    PA Event

    Do not forget that the PA will be holding the Christmas Bazaar on Friday 15th December (3.30-5.30).

    Thank you to you all for your overwhelming support and generosity for the very worthy cause that is Children in Need, there was certainly some fabulous costumes. As soon as we have done all the counting we will let you know how much we raised!

     

    We hope the children all enjoyed book week and came home talking about books. Please remember that the book fair is still opening on Monday after school.

     

    Governor Day

    Our Governors will be in school on Tuesday and will be in the playground at the start and end of the day, please do take the time to speak to them should you wish to.

     

    Road Safety

    This week in National Road Safety Week and the children will be learning about this and talking about it during assemblies and class time. Please do also take the time to talk to them about the importance of Road Safety to reinforce this message.

     

    Year 5

    Year 5 have their European Market on Thursday. We look forward to welcoming parents and families from 2.30pm.

    Thank you to all those who helped make Attendance and Punctuality week a success. We hope the children enjoyed Best of British week and the children were excited to come home and talk to you about this. Thank you for your lovely comments regarding the poppies on display on Friday.

     

    Year 2

    Year 2 are off to Colchester Zoo on Monday. Please send contributions in if you have not done so already. Thank you for your support with this, without such support trips cannot go ahead.

     

    Year

    Year 6 are off to the British Museum on Thursday. Please send contributions and consent forms in if you have not done so already. Again, thank you for your support with this, without such support trips cannot go ahead.

     

    Children In Need

    On Friday, we are once again supporting the very worthy cause of Children in Need whose theme this year is 'Spotacular'. In doing so we will be having a non-uniform day where we will be showing our support by coming dressed in something spotty (a small donation in the bucket is all that is needed)! All donations received for this will be sent to Children in Need. Please help us support this worthy cause!

     

    Travelling Book Fair

    The Travelling Book Fair arrives at Clockhouse this week and will be open to families to browse and buy after school on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Monday next week. This will be in the Key Stage 1 hall. Please do take a look.


    Sport

    Good luck to the boys Football team who play Pinewood at home on Tuesday, your support as always is greatly appreciated.

    It was lovely to see everyone back at school last week and hear about their half term holiday. Thank you also to all those that attended Parents Evening, it was lovely to see you all. If you have not yet managed to meet with your child's teacher please do speak to them to make arrangements for this to happen this week.

     

    Behaviour

    We hope that the children came home last week talking about our new school rules - Ready, Respectful, Responsible. Please do talk to them about this. More information around our new approach will be coming out to you in the near future.


    Best of British Week

    This week we will be celebrating Britain and the British Culture as per the letter that came out last week. We have lots of exciting things planned and are really looking forward to the street party on Friday 10th November as part of this. The children can come dressed in red, white and blue on this day if they wish.

     

    Amazing Attendance and Perfect Punctuality

    This week is our termly focus Attendance Week. Please make every effort to ensure that your child is in school everyday and on time! We really do need to work together to improve the children's attendance across the school. Together we CAN DO IT! What will the reward be this time and who will win?


    Year 1

    Year 1 are looking forward to welcoming a number of Birds of Prey on Monday. This is a lovely experience for the children. Please do send in contributions if you have not done so already. Without these contributions such experiences would not be possible for the children.

     

    Year 5

    We look forward to welcoming our Year 5 parents for Learn with my Child on Thursday morning at 9.30am - 11.45. Please come for as little or as much as you can. As with the other year groups, regrettably we are unable to accommodate younger siblings at these events.

     

    School Photographs

    Following the letter that came out last week, please remember that individual school photographs will be taken on Tuesday 7th November. Children who have brothers and sisters in school will also have the family photos taken during the day. However, if you wish to your children photographed with children who do not attend the school there is the opportunity to have this done on before school on Tuesday. Please go the Key Stage 2 hall from 8am.

     

    Sport
