  • Weekly reminders for week beginning 1st February 2021

    Sun 31 Jan 2021
    Good morning Clockhouse

Week 5 here we come! Can you actually believe it? Once again this week you have amazed us with your commitment and desire to make the best of this very difficult time. I put the following in one of my daily messages last week but wanted to reiterate the message to you as it really is important –

We know we are asking an incredible amount of you and you are all in such different circumstances. WELL DONE to each and every one of you. Not only are you home schooling, you are holding down your own jobs, coping with unwell family members or friends, running households, the list goes on and on! But ultimately you are living through and surviving a pandemic! No one has done this before and honestly you are doing a great job, so much better than many of you think you are doing - be proud of yourselves! Please be kind to yourselves. There will be some days when it is just too much, and that is ok. Put it to the side and do something different. Walk away from it when it is too much or it becomes too stressful and come back to it later (or not as the case maybe). At the moment the most important thing is that everyone is safe.

As I have said, we are very aware we are asking an incredible amount of you and all we ask is that you do your best and try! Everyone’s best will be different and we respect that. We cannot ask for more than this. We are doing our best and are very aware that we do not always get it right, we are all only human at the end of the day. We are trained professionals who do this for a living, you have had to become teachers overnight. Please know we are here for you and will do all we can to support you and we will also be ready to take over the reins when we can be back together. No one wants their child to fall behind but, as I said just do your best and we will do the rest. Talk to us and use us to support you all as you need to. There is nothing weak in asking for help and support if you need it or you just need to hear a different voice.

Again last week there was great engagement from you all with the Zoom sessions, with Google Classroom and Class Dojo. Well done to you all! This week we had a 91% uptake in live learning and a 96% uptake in remote learning. Can you help us improve it again next week! It is so lovely to see you all and thank you so much for keeping to the rules. If you are having any difficulties joining meetings, please do let Class Teachers know and they will do all that they can to help you. Also if you need a call at any time just let us know. We are all here to help and make this experience as easy as possible.

Well done to all those who took, part in – ‘Feel-good Friday Fashions’, your head wear was impressive. Keep an eye out for what next week’s theme will be. We hope you all enjoyed Achievement Assembly on Friday and will be looking for are next Home Learning Heroes and Hawaii Heroes come Monday. It really is a tough choice, we have so many Heroes at Clockhouse!
Thank you also to those who have put your hearts in the windows, people will be out this week looking for them in your windows. Please do help us spread the word. How many windows can we get this in and how far can we get it to go? Well done also for getting involved with ‘Clockhouse does Strictly’ please get your videos sent in by Wednesday at the latest.

I hope you have all had a good rest over the weekend so that you are ready to go again on Monday, week 5 here we come! But do remember what I said above. If you do not have a child in school, please do let us know if your child is unwell or a member of the household, we do still care about you all obviously and are all still part of the same community.

As you know, at Clockhouse, we always strive to improve as well as enjoy hearing positive feedback! During this difficult time positive feedback is always welcome but we also want to know if there is anything more we can do or improve. Please help up to help you by clicking on the link below and completing this short questionnaire:
    https://forms.gle/3dFXzRwMBXwmgMYE8
We urge you to give you child's name so that if need be we can address any issues with you directly but this is optional. Thank you to all those who have already completed this.

Please contact the school if you have any questions and we all look forward to seeing you virtually or face to face again this week.
Stay safe team Clockhouse! Have the best week possible.
    #ourclockhousefamily
#ourclockhousecommunity – and what a fabulous community you are!

  • Weekly reminders for week beginning 25th January 2021

    Sun 24 Jan 2021

    Good morning Clockhouse

It is hard to believe we have been under this new regime for nearly 3 weeks and what an actionned packed three weeks it is in so many different ways. Not only have we had the privilege of seeing all your fabulous learning at home and seeing you on Zoom, we have also seen what other fabulous talents you have. We have seen chefs in the making, artists in the making, engineers in the making, carers in the making, even teachers in the making and so, so much more! Clockhouse you never cease to amaze us, thank you for being simply wonderful. You commitment and resilience makes such a difficult situation that little bit easier for the staff who, I am sure you will agree, are doing a fantastic job under such difficult circumstances. In between working with you all many are also home schooling their own children so can certainly sympathise with how hard this is!

Once again we saw great engagement from you all with the Zoom sessions, with Google Classroom and Class Dojo. Well done to you all! This week we had a 90% uptake which is the same as last week. We would really like this to go up this week – can you help us? It is so lovely to see you all and thank you so much for keeping to the rules. If you are having any difficulties joining meetings, please do let Class Teachers know and they will do all that they can to help you. Also if you need a call at any time just let us know. We are all here to help and make this experience as easy as possible.

Well done to all those who have taken part in ‘Socks for Clocks’. It is lovely to see you taking part – keep them coming. It was also great to see Zoom and Hawaii turn blue with you all taking part in – ‘Feel-good Friday Fashions’. Keep an eye out for what next week’s theme will be. We hope you all enjoyed Achievement Assembly on Friday and will be looking for are next Home Learning Heroes and Hawaii Heroes come Monday. It really is a tough choice, we have so many Heroes at Clockhouse!

Have you seen the information about #ourclockhousehearts appeal which came out last week? Have you spotted any hearts in windows when you have been doing your daily exercise with the #ourclockhousefamily logo? Do let us know where you have seen them and get yours in the window for all to see our united community during this time and take a picture and send it to us.

We do continue to ask that you do not put undue pressure on yourselves or the children at this difficult time. Please remember that whilst learning is important to keep progressing with learning and to keep some routine going, having fun is also equally important. I hope you have all had a good rest over the weekend so that you are ready to go again on Monday, week 4 here we come!

I have not put the normal list of what is happening in this week’s update as nothing has changed from the previous week, but obviously any questions, please do just ask!

Should you need to come onto school site, please be aware that all the rules and expectations that were in place prior to the holiday remain. Please do ensure that you keep your physical distance and that you wear masks when on school site unless you are exempt. If your children are in Hawaii, please do ensure that they are not sent into school if they themselves have symptoms of Covid or if a member of the household does. The whole household MUST isolate until tests results are received. Should you require further information, please follow the link below:

    https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/symptoms/

If you do not have a child in school, please do let us know if your child is unwell or a member of the household, we do still care about you all obviously and are all still part of the same community.

Please be aware that if you have requested food vouchers, all being well, they should arrive tomorrow!

Please contact the school if you have any questions and we all look forward to seeing you virtually or face to face again this week. Whilst we do still anticipate disruption moving forward and do not know how long the current arrangements will remain, we will of course do all we can to support you and thank you for your support without which we cannot do what we are doing.

Look out for the first video to learn the dance for ‘Clockhouse does Strictly’ coming your way tomorrow.

Stay safe team Clockhouse! Have the best week possible.
    #ourclockhousefamily
#ourclockhousecommunity – the best there is!

  • Weekly reminders for week beginning 18th January 2021

    Sun 17 Jan 2021
    Good morning Clockhouse

Last week was another good week at Clockhouse, obviously not as good as if we were in normal times but all the same it was very positive. We once again had a great uptake in the Zoom sessions as per the previous week although with your help we know we can increase it this week. It is so lovely to see you all and thank you so much for keeping to the rules. If you are having any difficulties joining meetings, please do let Class Teachers know and they will do all that they can to help you.

Well done to all those who have taken part in ‘Socks for Clocks’. It is lovely to see our community taking part (and beating Mr Yarrows score)! We hope you enjoyed our Friday extravaganza – ‘Feel-good Friday Fashions’. It was lovely to see so many of you getting involved and wearing what makes you happy. I hope some of the parents / carers joined in as well. This is just to mix it up a bit and give the children something to look forward to whilst doing their learning. Watch out for what next week’s ‘Feel-good Friday Fashions will be’. We hope you all enjoyed Achievement Assembly on Friday and will be looking for are next Home Learning Heroes and Hawaii Heroes come Monday. It really is a tough choice, we have so many Heroes at Clockhouse!

We do continue to ask that you do not put undue pressure on yourselves or the children at this difficult time. Please remember that whilst learning is important to keep progressing with learning and to keep some routine going, having fun is also equally important. I hope you have all had a good rest over the weekend so that you are ready to go again on Monday, week 3 here we come!

As we continue under this new regime, I wanted to keep you up to date with what it happening (although nothing has actually changed since last week):
    • Remote Learning continues this week for the majority of children. As many of you already know and have seen, unlike the last lockdown, this time there are very clear expectations on school that learning must continue and progress. We obviously cannot do this without your support and will work with you to do all that we can. Please do let us know if you need support.
    • Team Hawaii will be back in action on Monday (separate information has been sent to you about the week ahead).
    • There will be a small number of school staff in school every day.
    • The best way to contact teachers / school staff is messaging via Class Dojo, they will be online throughout the day and will get back to you as soon as they can. Class Teachers will be at home teaching remotely via Zoom at the times already given out. Links to the Zoom sessions will be sent by individual teachers. If you are having any difficulties getting on to this or Google Classroom do let us know and we will assist you.
    • The school phones will only be manned between 7.45am and 3.45pm. Please do not hesitant to call, even if it is only for a chat. If we cannot talk at that moment, someone will get back to you as soon as they can. Please only use option 3 and 5, as other lines will not be manned due to the reduced work force each day. Please call again if you do not get answered immediately.
    • We will be asking for confirmation from those critical workers who may need child care for next week. Please do keep in mind that the government are very clear that ‘you should only send your child to school if you have to, because your work is critical to the COVID-19 response. If you are able to keep your child at home, you should’. This not only helps keep children safe but also the staff.
Should you need to come onto school site, please be aware that all the rules and expectations that were in place prior to the holiday remain. Please do ensure that you keep your physical distance and that you wear masks when on school site unless you are exempt. Free School Meals
I hope you have all seen the information that went out yesterday (Saturday) regarding food parcels and vouchers. Please do take a look at it on Dojo – School Story if you are eligible.

Keep sending in your ‘Socks for Clocks’ videos, look out for some exciting things coming out from OCA and keep an eye out for what this ‘Feel-good Friday Fashions’ will be! We are also going need your help as Clockhouse aims to do Strictly – watch this space!

Please contact the school if you have any questions and we all look forward to seeing you virtually or face to face again this week. • Weekly reminders for week beginning 4th January 2020

    Sun 03 Jan 2021
    Happy New Year everyone!

Well I hope that, whilst it was a different holiday and festive period, you all made the best of it and had a fantastic Christmas. I also hope that 2021 has got off to the best start possible for you all under the circumstances! On behalf of all the staff a huge thank you for all the lovely messages, cards and gifts we received prior to the Christmas break and all you support and understanding at such a difficult time.

As I am sure you are aware the new term starts tomorrow and whilst it is not the start we would have wanted, I know together we will make the best of it and get through it together. Tomorrow (Monday) will continue to be an inset day and staff will be working from home. If you need us please contact us via Class Dojo. Many of you have already spoken to teachers or will do so over the coming days. Remote Learning starts on Tuesday. Please be aware that unlike the last lockdown, this time there are very clear expectations on schools that learning must continue and progress. We obviously cannot do this without your support and will work with you to do all that we can. Please do let us know if you need anything.
