  • Weekly reminders for week beginning 30th September 2019

    We have had another good week at Clockhouse and are already looking forward to what the next week has in store.


    Thank you to all those parents who are really practising the children's reading and spellings with them at home as well as number bond, times tables and completing home learning. We are really seeing the difference in school. Please do remember to fill in their Learning Diaries to provide teachers with feedback. Remember everytime the children read at home that get a raffle ticket and are entered into our weekly prize draw - you have to be in it to win it!


    Harvest Festival

    On Tuesday we will be having our annual Harvest Festival with the children. If you have any tins or non perishables to send in please do so. The food bank is always grateful for what we give to them.

     

    Year 2

    We look forward to welcoming our Year 2 parents for Learn with my Child on Wednesday morning at 9.10 am. Please come for as little or as much as you can. Regrettably we are unable to accommodate younger siblings at these events.
     

    Year 1

    We look forward to welcoming our Year 1 parents for Learn with my Child on Thursday morning at 9.10 am. Please come for as little or as much as you can. Regrettably we are unable to accommodate younger siblings at these events.


    Special Dinner for all

    Please remember that we have a special dinner day on Thursday, it would be really good to get as many people as possible having dinner on Thursday as this determines some of our schools funding. We really do appreciate your help in this matter.

     

    School Nurse Drop In

     

    Should you wish to speak to the School Nurse she will be available for you to 'drop in' on Tuesday  2.30pm - 3.30pm. Please come to the Key Stage 2 Office.


    Sport

    Good luck to the Netball team who get this year's sporting fixtures started. They are taking part in the High 5 Netball Competition on Wednesday afternoon.

    Another good week was had at Clockhouse last week with, as always, a lot going on! It was lovely to welcome some of the new Nursery children to Clockhouse this week and like the rest of our new children, have settled well. We look forward to welcoming more this week.


    Thank you to all those people who attended Meet the Teacher. Thank you also for the support given to Jeans for Genes day. We will let you know how much we have raised for this worthwhile charity once the counting has been completed.


    Governor Day

    Our Governors will be in school on Tuesday and will be in the playground at the start and end of the day, please do take the time to speak to them should you wish to.


    Year 5

    Please do not forget that there is a meeting about the proposed Year 5 residential trip to Condover Hall on Wednesday at 6pm. This will be in the Key Stage 1 hall.


    Year 6

    Please remember that there is a Year 6 Learn with my Child session on Thursday between 9.10 and 11.45. Please come for as much or a little as you can.

     

    No Cost Uniform Shop

    Our No Cost Uniform Shop will be back open on Thursday after school in the Key Stage 1 ICT Suite. Please do come along as there is lots of uniform etc. to give away.

  • Weekly reminders for week beginning 16th September 2019

    The fantastic start to the new school year has continued this week, with the children settling well into their classes and lots of learning taking place. The children had a great time taking part in 'New Year, New Me' Week and it was lovely to welcome so many of you into school on Friday.


    Thank you to all those who have also been to the Meet the Teacher sessions after school, these continue this week (see below).

     

    Online Reading and Maths resources to use at home

    Please remember that Reading Eggs, Reading Eggspress, Times Table Rock Stars and SumDog, the online programmes that we subscribe to, are available for the children. If you cannot remember your password please speak to your child’s class teacher who will be able to reissue it to you .


    Class Dojo

    If you have not yet signed into Class Dojo please ask your class teacher for your login details. If you have a new phone or device and need the password again to access the Dojo please also ask, it really is such a helpful and valuable communication tool for us and you as well as a way of celebrating your children's achievements in school. 

     

    Nursery and Reception

    It has been lovely to welcome all the new children to Reception this week, they certainly seem to have settled into school life quickly! We look forward to welcoming some of our Nursery children this week.

     

    Year 5

    Please be aware that China are off swimming on Monday. Please ensure that the children have the necessary kit in school with them.


    Year 6

    Booster Classes start this week and everyone who is invited should have had a letter. Please contact your child's class teacher is you are not sure if they should be attending. Booster classes start promptly at 8.15am so please ensure that the children are at school in time for this - thank you in advance. Please speak to your child's class teacher if you have any questions.


    Please remember that Year 6 have their Roman Day on Wednesday - costumes at the ready. Please ensure contributions have been sent in.


    Mr McLaughlin (Principle from Bower Park Academy) will be at school to meet with Year 6 parents / carers on Friday at 9am. Please come to the main school office to sign in.

    Jeans for Genes Day

    As you will already know, Friday is Jeans for Genes Day, for a small contribution to this worthwhile charity the children can come to school wearing jeans on Friday. If they do not have jeans, jogging bottoms or such are fine. Please ensure though that children are suitably dressed for school, including foot wear, school rules regarding jewellery still apply.


    Well-being Hub

    Following the flyer which came home last week, the Well-being Hub is open to parents on Wednesday from 9-11am. Please come to the main school office to sign in.

    What a fantastic couple of days we had back at school last week - well done to our fantastic Clockhouse community!

     

    It was absolutely lovely to welcome all the children from Year 1 through to Year 6 back to school last week as well as welcoming new staff and children along with their families. We were all pleased to see everyone and the children seemed to settle quickly, we are all looking forward to an action packed and exciting year ahead.

     

    If they have not come home already, Home / School Learning Diaries will be coming home early next week. Please ensure that the children bring these to school with them everyday and that you sign them and add any comments. A letter will be coming out in the near future about changes to the reading reward initiatives we have although we are sure your children will tell you about these.

     

    Last week, some children did not have all the equipment they require - particularly full P.E. kits, water bottles, etc. Please ensure P.E. kits are in school and that earrings are removed. Please can we also remind you of the importance of full school uniform and that this, along with coats are clearly named.

     

    Reception

    Welcome to our Reception children who all start on Monday. We look forward to welcoming the children and their families to Clockhouse.

     

    Nursery

    Welcome to some of our Nursery children who will be starting with us on Thursday, as with Reception we look forward to welcoming the children and their families to Clockhouse.

     

    Year 1 - 6

    This week is our first New Year, New Me Week where the children will be learning about healthy minds and bodies. Please remember to send pebbles in if you have not done so already. If you have any spares we would be very grateful of these also.

     

    We look forward to welcoming parents / carers on Friday afternoon to see what the children have been up to!

     

    Year 6

    Year 6 parents and children are invited to attend a meeting about SATs and Bournemouth on Wednesday evening. Your attendance is important. This will take place at 6pm in the Key Stage 1 hall.

     

    Year 4

    Please remember that Year 4 have their Egyptian Day on Thursday - costumes at the ready. Please ensure contributions have been sent in.

     

    Year 3 - 6

    Please ensure that Walk Home letters are sent back tomorrow. The new list will start as of Monday and if we have not had permission your child will not be allowed to leave the school.

     

    Meet the Teacher

    We will once again be opening the doors of each year group after school one day until 4pm over the next couple of weeks. This provides you with the opportunity to chat to your child's teacher, ask questions and also to see their new classroom. Dates are as follows:

    Welcome back to the new school year everyone!!


    We all hope that you have had and are still having a fantastic Summer Holiday and enjoyed lots of time with family and friends. We are looking forward to hearing about all your adventures.

     

     

    As you are aware we are back to school on Thursday (5th September) for Years 1 to 6 and are looking forward to seeing everyone bright and early! Remember that school starts promptly at 8.55am.

     

    Please ensure that all the children return to school with all the necessary equipment they require - particularly full P.E. kits, water bottles, coats etc. Some children will be doing P.E. this week. Please can we also remind you of the importance of full school uniform and that this along with coats are clearly named.


    Letters regarding the clubs that will be on offer this year will be going out next week. Those children in Year 4 to 6 who had permission to leave classrooms on their own last year will be allowed to do so on Thursday and Friday this week unless we are told otherwise. A new permission letter will be coming home on Thursday, the new list will take effect from Monday.

     

    Once again welcome back everyone, here's to another successful year at Clockhouse Primary!
