  • Weekly reminders for week beginning 27th September 2021

    Sun 26 Sep 2021

We had another good week at Clockhouse. The children have all settled into the year and we are certainly seeing some fabulous learning taking place across the school. As always, thank you for your on-going support - it really is a team effort in every sense of the word.

Thank you to all those parents who are really supporting their children and practising the children's reading and spellings with them at home as well as number bond, times tables and completing home learning. We are really seeing the difference in school and it is lovely to see all your messages about this on Dojo. Remember every time the children read at home and you sign their Reading Record book, they get a raffle ticket and are entered into our weekly prize draw - you have to be in it to win it!

Thank you for your positive feedback from the Meet the Teacher videos. They take a long time to put together. It means a lot to the staff that you found them useful.

    Coronavirus
Please can I once again remind you that if your child has symptoms of Covid-19, they need to take a PCR test and isolate until the results are received. Only then and if the result is negative can they return to school. Please do act upon this and take it seriously in order for us to help stop the spread of the virus. We need your help!

    Harvest Festival
On Monday we will be having our annual Harvest Festival with the children. As per the letter that came out, we will not be able to accept tins but urge you, should you be out shopping, to put a food donation in one of the Food Bank drop off points at a supermarket. If you wish to take a picture doing this we would love to see it.

    No Cost Uniform Shop
Our No Cost Uniform Shop will be back open on Wednesday after school in the Key Stage 1 Hall. Entry is via the Computer Room from the Key Stage 1 playgound. Please be aware queuing maybe required if it gets busy. Please do come along as there is lots of uniform etc. to give away.

  • Weekly reminders for week beginning 20th September 2021

    Sun 19 Sep 2021

Another good week was had at Clockhouse last week. Many year groups enjoyed their Stunning Starter last week and got themselves fully immersed in their new theme! I have to say the children have been nothing short of amazing and we continue to be thankful to work with such a supportive community. It was lovely to welcome many of our new Nursery children to Clockhouse last week and like the rest of our new children, they have settled so well.

Thank you also for the support given to Jeans for Genes day. We will let you know how much we have raised for this worthwhile charity once the counting has been completed
    .
    Governor Day
After 18 months of not being in school, our Governors will be in school on Tuesday and will be in the playground at the start and end of the day, please do take the time to speak to them should you wish to.

Is your child, or a child you know due to start school in September 2022?
We are looking forward to welcoming prospective parents / carers into school on Thursday 23rd September at 10.00am. Please call the school to book this or a tour later in the term. Places on each tour are limited.

    No Cost Uniform Shop
Whilst you are still able to access the No Cost Uniform Shop online by following this link - No Cost Uniform Online Shop, we are very pleased to inform you at the not too distant future you will be able to come into the shop for what you need. On the last Wednesday of every month, starting on 29th September, you will be able to browse the shop which will be located in the Key Stage 1 hall accessed via the Computer Room door at the front of the school.

    Coronavirus
Please remember, should your child  develop symptoms of Coronavirus - a temperature of 37.8 or above (this is in line with Government guidance), a loss of taste or smell or a continuous cough, your child must NOT come to school. A PCR test should be booked and the child with symptoms should isolate until the results. If your child is considered close contact and you get them a PCR test, they can still come to school whilst waiting for the results. Only then, it it is positive, do they need to isolate. Sibling can continue to come to school unless they have symptoms or test positive themselves. If you are unsure, please ask.

We certainly had another good week at Clockhouse which ended with a fabulous Peter Pan Day on Friday. It was lovely to see all our Reception children start school as well as a number of our Nursery children start their journey with us. Again, the children lived up to expectation, they have worked hard and had a fabulous week. Thank you again to you all for support with the return to school and for following the rules. It really does make life easier.

    Nursery
We look forward to welcoming more of our Nursery children as the week progresses.

    Stunning Starters
Throughout this week and next many year groups will be doing their Stunning Starters for their new theme. I am sure the children will be very excitied to come home and tell you all about it.

    Jeans for Genes Day
As you will already know, Friday is Jeans for Genes Day, for a small contribution to this worthwhile charity the children can come to school wearing jeans on Friday. If they do not have jeans, jogging bottoms or such are fine as well as own tops. Please ensure though that children are suitably dressed for school, including foot wear, school rules regarding jewellery still apply.

If your child has PE on Friday, please send them to school in their PE kit on Friday and your child's class teacher will let you know which alternative day they will be supporting this good cause.

It was certainly lovely to welcome the children from Year 1 to Year 6 back to school last week as well as welcoming our Reception and Nursery families throughout the week. The children certainly lived up to expectation and took returning to school in their stride. Their adaptability and resilience never ceases to amaze me. They settled so quickly into their classes with lots of learning taking place. Thank you also to all the parents, carers and families who adapted to the changes so well, this certainly makes all our lives easier!
