Helpful Hints for Staying Safe Online

At Clockhouse we are educating the children about online safety issues to ensure that the children are safe in and out of school. Digital technologies have become integral to the lives of children and young people, both within schools and outside school. These technologies are powerful tools, which open up new opportunities for everyone. These technologies can stimulate discussion, promote creativity and stimulate awareness of context to promote effective learning. Young people should have an entitlement to safe internet access at all times. In school we will be discussing how to stay safe online with the children as part of our Switched On Computing curriculum.

For you as parents/carers we will be posting help web links and short videos that highlight some of the national advice that is there to support you and your child in this digital age. We hope that you find these useful and please contact school if you feel you need any further guidance on any area.  The most important thing as a parent/carer you can do for your child is to talk to your child about staying safe online-having an open and honest conversation.
