  • Weekly reminders for week beginning 11th September 2017

    Sun 10 Sep 2017

What a fantastic first week back at school - well done to our fantastic Clockhouse community!

It was absolutely lovely to welcome all the children from Year 1 through to Year 6 back to school last week as well as welcoming new staff and children along with their families. We were all pleased to see everyone and the children seemed to settle quickly, we are all looking forward to an action packed and exciting year ahead.

We hope that you like the new Home / School Learning Diaries, we hope the information in them will further help you to support your child at home. Please ensure that the children bring these to school with them everyday and that you sign them and add any comments. A letter will be coming out in the near future about the new reading reward initiatives we have although we are sure your children will have already told you about them!

Last week, some children did not have all the equipment they require - particularly full P.E. kits, water bottles, etc. Please ensure P.E. kits are in school and that earrings are removed. Please can we also remind you of the importance of full school uniform and that this, along with coats are clearly named.

Reading Eggs and Eggspress / Mathletics

Please be aware that Mathletics and Reading Eggs / Eggspress will be down at the beginning of next week – this is whilst the Admin staff transfer names to the new classes.

    Reception

Welcome to our Reception children who all start on Monday. We look forward to welcoming the children and their families to Clockhouse.

    Year 1 - 6

As you will have seen from the letter that went out last week, this weeks sees Time Table Rock Star week! The staff have been planning lots of fun activities around times tables including the launch of Time Table Rock Stars. We would like to invite you into school to listen to a live performance of your child’s class song and have arranged for different classes to perform their song on different days so that it is easier for parents/carers to come into school to watch the performance if they have more than one child at the school. We will also be recording some of the performances of children with consent and adding this to the school’s website.

Please see the list below to identify which day your child’s class will be inviting parents and carers in:

Please speak to your child's class teacher after the tests if you wish to know how they got on do that you can further support them at home - every bit really does help!

Welcome back to the new school year everyone!!

We all hope that you have had a fantastic Summer Holiday and enjoyed lots of time with family and friends. We are looking forward to hearing about all your adventures.

As you are aware we are back to school on Wednesday (6th September) for Years 1 to 6 and are looking forward to seeing everyone bright and early! Remember that school starts promptly at 8.55am.

Please ensure that all the children return to school with all the necessary equipment they require - particularly full P.E. kits, water bottles, coats etc. Some children will be doing P.E. this week. Please can we also remind you of the importance of full school uniform and that this along with coats are clearly named.

Letters regarding the clubs that will be on offer this year will be going out next week. Those children in Year 4 to 6 who had permission to leave classrooms on their own last year will be allowed to do so on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week unless we are told otherwise. A new permission letter will be coming home on Wednesday, the new list will take effect from Monday.

A number of building works have taken place during the summer holidays. The main one being the complete renewal of the heating and hot water system in the Reception and Key Stage 1 building - a rather mamouth task as we are sure you will agree.

Once again welcome back everyone, here's to another successful year at Clockhouse Primary!

We look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday and we hope you have a good last few days holiday!
