  • Weekly reminders for week beginning 28th October 2019

    Welcome back to the new half term everyone!

     

    We look forward to welcoming everyone back to school tomorrow (Monday 28th October). We hope that you all had a lovely holiday and are ready and raring to go for the new term ahead!

     

    We have a quieter weak to get us started this term!


    Year 6

    From Monday and throughout the week, the Year 6 children will be sitting Mock SATs tests. Please make sure they are ontime to school having had a good breakfast and lots of sleep. Please speak to your child's class teacher after the tests if you wish to know how they got on do that you can further support them at home - every bit really does help!

     

    Parents' Evening 

    Do not forget that on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week it is Parents' Evening after school. Teachers have been busy making appointments for everyone, so if, as yet, you do not have an appointment please contact your child's class teacher on Monday to make arrangements for a meeting. There will be a questionnaire for parents to complete whilst you are waiting. We do appreciate that this takes time but your feedback is invaluable to us as we continually strive to improve the educational experience we provide for the children and families we serve. Please do bring your children with you as they are eager to share their learning with you.


    Swap Shop Launch

    We are very excited to launch our Book Swap Shop on Wednesday. This is outside Peru and children are welcome to take a book in exchange for another book!


    We also have something else exciting planned for the day on Wednesday - watch this space.


    School Photographs

    Following the letter that came out before the holidays, please remember that individual school photographs will be taken on Thursday 31st October.  Children who have brothers and sisters in school will also have the family photos taken during the day. However, if you wish to your children photographed with children who do not attend the school there is the opportunity to have this done before school on Thursday. Please go the Key Stage 2 hall from 8am.


    Brazil

    Brazil are off bowling on Friday - this is in recognition for their outstanding attendance at the beginning of the term when they have 3 consecutive weeks of 100%. Can any other class match this?


    Red and White Day

    In order to show our support for the England Rugby Team, the children and staff are invited to come to school dressed in red and white on Friday. We have some exciting plans for the day!


    Sport

    Good luck to the Handball team who take part in a Borough Competition on Thursday.

    It is hard to believe it is the last week of this half term already - where is the time going! We have another busy week ahead and it is only four days for the children.

     

    Thank you to you all for your support shown during Yellow Day.

     

    Reception

    Reception parents are invited in throughout the week to work with their children. Please speak to your child's class teacher if you are not sure which day you are meant to come in. We look forward to welcoming you.

     

    Year 3

    Year 3 are off to Barleylands on Wednesday. Please ensure arrival to school is prompt so that the coaches can leave on time. Thank you in advance.

     

    Year 5

    We look forward to welcoming our Year 5 parents for Learn with my Child on Thursday morning at 9.10am - 11.45. Please come for as little or as much as you can. Regrettably we are unable to accommodate younger siblings at these events.


    Well-being Hub

    Following the flyer which came home earlier this term, the Well-being Hub is open to parents on Wednesday from 9-11am. Please come to the main school office to sign in.


    No Cost Uniform Shop

    Our No Cost Uniform Shop will be back open on Thursday after school in the Key Stage 1 ICT Suite. Please do come along as there is lots of uniform etc. to give away.


    Sport
    Good luck to the Cross Country Team who take part in a Borough Competition on Tuesday and to the  Handball Team who take part in Clockhouse's first ever match against Towers on Tuesday. This will be at Bower Park Academy. Good luck also to the Netball team who play Parklands at home on Wednesday.


    School Closure

    Please do not forget that Friday 18th October is a staff training day and therefore the school will be closed to children.

    Another good week was had at Clockhouse last week with another busy week coming up.

     

    Year 4

    We look forward to welcoming our Year 4 parents for Learn with my Child on Thursday morning at 9.15am - 11.45. Please come for as little or as much as you can. Regrettably we are unable to accommodate younger siblings at these events.


    Road Safety Awareness

    Year 3 and 4 have a Road Safety Awareness roadshow on Wednesday afternoon. Please do talk to the children about this when they get home.


    World Mental Health Day

    On Thursday we will be supporting World Mental Health Day. This is a charity close to the school's heart and for a small donation, we ask that the children come to school in non-uniform including something yellow - this can be a small as a hair clip, a pattern on socks etc.

     

    Sport

    Good luck  to the Year 5 and 6 Orienteering team who take part in the Borough competition on Wednesday and to the boys football team who play Parsonage Farm at home on Thursday.
