  • Weekly reminders for week beginning 1st March 2021

    Sun 28 Feb 2021
    Good morning Clockhouse

Here we are at Week 8 of Home Learning but as you all know this is the final week before we welcome all the children back so school next Monday (8th March). We honestly cannot wait to get some normality back and welcome our Clockhouse family back but we still do have one week left of Remote Learning – can we make it the best yet? Of course we can!

We are very much looking forward to seeing you back on Zoom on Monday as well as being on Google Classroom and Class Dojo. All Zoom times remain the same as do the rules and expectations. The engagement on Zoom sessions was excellent again last week with 90% of children accessing live learning and 94% of children accessing remote learning – well done and thank you all to your amazing commitment to the cause and to your child’s education! We could not have done this without each and every one of you! As always please remember that we are here to help you in any way that we can. If you need a call at any time just let us know. We are all here to help and make this experience as easy as possible.

Thank you for bearing with us last week whilst we planned and prepared for the return of all the children. In essence nothing will really be different from prior to Christmas but we will remind you of times, expectations etc. throughout the coming week and obviously before next Monday.

As many of you already know, Thursday is World Book Day and we have lots of lovely activities planned which we are looking forward to sharing with you. We hope you have continued to enjoy the Masked Reader. More of these will be coming out this week with the grand reveal on Thursday. Do not forget to watch and note down who you think is behind the mask! Also look out for a poetry competition coming your way – we cannot wait to see your entries!

Home learning until Thursday of this week. On Friday staff will be in school in order to get the school ready for the children’s return and to ensure that we are ready and raring to go come the following Monday. There will only be ONE Zoom on Friday. This will be the second one of the day for each year group with the exception for Year 6 where it will be the first one.

Please, do not forget to send in your entries for the renaming of the canteen following the launch of this yesterday. Also Friday 5th March is the closing date for nomination for Parent Governor – please email these as per the nomination form.

    School Uniform
Just like us, I am sure you are busy preparing for the children to return to school. We have had a number of people ask about uniform. I am pleased to inform you that Mrs Bowden's Uniform Shop will be open on Tuesday (2nd March) and Friday (5th March) between 9.30am and 2.30pm prior to the return on Monday 8th March. If you are coming to purchase uniform on these days please ensure you maintain a social distance and wear a mask (unless exempt). Please be aware that from 8th March all orders will need to be submitted via the order form along cash or cheque.

Obviously with the children returning to school on 8th March, this will be the last week of the Food Vouchers which should come out on Monday.

If you have been loaned a laptop by the school, please can you return this to school on Friday afternoon, prior to the full return to school on Monday – thank you in advance.

Please contact the school if you have any questions and we all look forward to seeing you virtually or face to face again this week. Stay safe team Clockhouse! Have the best week possible – not long now! Thank you for all you continue to do to make this hard time a little easier for us all. I am sure you would join me in thanking the fabulous staff team for all they have done as well.

  • Weekly reminders for week beginning 22nd February 2021

    Sun 21 Feb 2021
    Good morning Clockhouse

Welcome back to the second half of the Spring Term everyone. I hope you have all had a relaxing half term and have made the best of the holiday considering the circumstances we are in. Hopefully, soon we will know more about what the coming weeks will look like. We can only hope! I am sure many of you will be eagerly awaiting the announcement from the Government tomorrow to explain the roadmap for children returning to school. Whatever is said, please do bear with us and respect the time we need to plan. As I hope you know, we will communicate with you as soon as we can.

We are very much looking forward to seeing you back on Zoom on Monday as well as being on Google Classroom and Class Dojo. All Zoom times remain the same as do the rules and expectations. The engagements on Zoom sessions, with Google Classroom and Class Dojo was fabulous last half term – let us not only keep this going this term but make it even better! Please remember that we are here to help you in any way that we can. If you need a call at any time just let us know. We are all here to help and make this experience as easy as possible.

As I explained before the holiday, please do be aware that in many of our Hawaii bubbles we are at capacity. Whilst we do not want to turn children away, it really it that tight. Please do keep true to why we are doing this - to keep everyone safe! It is a constant juggling act but we will continue to do our best. Obviously the more children we have in school the more staff we have to have and the greater the risk. If you do currently have a place in a Hawaii bubble which you no longer require please do let us know.

Well done to all those who took, part in – ‘Feel-good Friday Fashions’! There were certainly some interesting outfits! Look out for the theme for this week coming your way soon!!

Our hearts continue to spread far and wide and as I am sure you have seen Clockhouse Hearts have been seen as far away as New Zealand, Australia. Poland and lots more. It has been great to see so many of you getting involved with the OCA / Keystone ‘Clock the Key’ challenge. Remember to take your finished form to Keystones in the High Street to get your prize – it is still not too late!

    IMPORTANT
As I communicated with you earlier in the week, please be aware that we are unable to order this week’s vouchers until Tuesday and are unclear as to how quickly they will be distributed. We will order and schedule them for Tuesday but this is completely out of our control. Apologies in advance for any inconvenience caused.

Please contact the school if you have any questions and we all look forward to seeing you virtually or face to face again this week. Stay safe team Clockhouse! Have the best week possible. Thank you for all you continue to do to make this hard time a little easier for us all. I am sure you would join me in thanking the fabulous staff team for all they have done as well.

Please watch out for further communication this week following Monday’s announcement.

Look out for the launch of 'The Clockhouse Masked Reader' tomorrow as well as a special video!

  • Weekly reminders for week beginning 8th February 2021

    Sun 07 Feb 2021
    Good morning Clockhouse

Can you believe it is Week 6 and the final week of this half term. For many of you it has probably been the longest half term ever but in many ways it has gone quickly. I am sure that come next week (week beginning 15th February) many of you will be looking forward to a week off – no Zoom, no Google Classroom (I can almost hear the sigh of relief)! But do remember you are doing a great job, so much better than many of you give yourselves credit for! We are also very aware that some families (children included) are not looking forward to half term and the lack of routine and structure. Again you are not alone. Please do talk to us and we will try to help you.

So one more week of Home Schooling and then a week off before we are back to it on 22nd February. Let us hope that by then we are getting closer to knowing a more concrete plan for the return to school for everyone! We can but hope!

Again last week there was great engagement from you all with the Zoom sessions, with Google Classroom and Class Dojo. Well done to you all! I am actually delighted to inform you that this was even better than the previous week. This week we had a 93% uptake in live learning and a 97% uptake in remote learning. Can you help us improve it again this week? As always, thank you so much for keeping to the rules and if you are having any difficulties joining meetings, please do let Class Teachers know and they will do all that they can to help you. Also if you need a call at any time just let us know. We are all here to help and make this experience as easy as possible.

Well done to all those who took, part in – ‘Feel-good Friday Fashions’! We will be carrying this on after half term. We hope you all enjoyed Achievement Assembly on Friday and will be looking for are next Home Learning Heroes and Hawaii Heroes come Monday. It continues to be such a tough choice!

Thank you also to those who have put your hearts in the windows. Can you spread the word – can we fill Collier Row with Hearts, how far in the world can we get them? Can you help us get our heart appeal as far as possible?

I hope you have all had a good rest over the weekend so that you are ready to go again on Monday, week 6 here we come!

5 more get ups till you all have a well-earned rest. The school will be closing on Friday for half term and we will be back on Monday 22nd February bright and early, ready to get back to it! If you do need us over the holiday, please dojo or email
office@clockhouse.havering.sch.uk Responses may be slower than normal, as obviously the staff will also be taking a well-deserved break.
