Orienteering

Clockhouse Mapping out a route to 4th place in the Havering year 5 Orienteering festival!

Clockhouse went to Stubbers to battle the mud and weather conditions to take part in the Havering Orienteering Festival.

The children applied skills they had learnt when in Year 4 to try and read a map and navigate the Orienteering course / check points in the quickest possible time.

There were mixed outcomes for the Clockhouse pairs some had a little bit of hesitation whilst others remembered the skills they had learnt in PE and attempted to fly around the map.

Clockhouse's best performance was a 4th  place pairing.

Team Tia - 10mins 22secs
Team Miley - 11mins 28secs
Team Kamran - 13mins 27secs
Team Teddy - 14mins 6secs
Team George - 16mins 28secs
Team Honey - 17mins 19secs

Mr Yarrow commented on the schools efforts saying 'The children represented the school as fantastic ambassadors. Orienteering and outdoor adventurous activites is something as a school we will be looking to do more of over the next academic year, today these children had an opportunity to get a head start and I look forward to seeing how much they develop in a year. Well done to all involved I hope they all enjoyed themselves. Thank you to all the parents who helped with transportation, and to Miss Martin for her help and support on the day!'
