  • Weekly reminders for week beginning 27th February 2023

    Sun 26 Feb 2023
It was lovely to welcome the community back to school last week and to hear about everyone's holiday.

Thank you for your responses to the questionnaire as well as your positive feedback from Parents' Evening. We hope you found the meetings with your child's teachers useful and were proud to hear what the teachers had to say. We also hope the children enjoyed 'We are...' Week and they came home inspired. Finally thank you for the support you showed for Amazing Attendance and Perfect Punctuality Week - well done everyone!

We have another busy week ahead.

    Year 1
We are very excited to be welcoming a Theatre company to Year 1 on Monday. The Drama Club will be working with Year 1 to complement their learning about London. If you have not sent in the contribution yet, we really would be most grateful if you could do so by the end of the day on Monday.

    Year 4
We look forward to welcoming our Year 4 parents / carers for their next Learn with my Child session on Tuesday at 9.10am - 11.45am. Please come for as little or as much as you can. As with the other year groups, regrettably we are unable to accommodate younger siblings at these events.

    China
Following the postponement of China's Learn with my Child session before half term, we are looking forward to welcoming China parent's on Wednesday (9.10am - 11.45am). Please come for as little or as much as you can. As with the other year groups, regrettably we are unable to accommodate younger siblings at these events.

    World Book Day
Next Thursday is World Book Day. In order to celebrate this, we are inviting the children to take part in an exciting competition. We would like the children to design a new book cover for their favourite book. Once they have completed their book cover, we ask that the children give these to their class teacher and they will then be passed onto the judging panel! All entries need to be submitted by Friday 3rd March. Winners will be announced after this and prizes given.
During the day, an author will also visit us.

On Friday, should your child wish to come dressed as a book character to celebrate World Book Day this will be optional. If you child does not want to dress up they will need to come to school in uniform.

    Strike Action
As I am sure you are aware NEU members are being asked to strike again on Thursday 2nd March. A letter regarding this will be coming out tomorrow (Monday). Please bear with me.

    Things to be aware of
    World Book Day £1 Vouchers
We have received World Book Day vouchers for all the children at school. These vouchers give children £1 off a book and are accepted at all participating book shops. They may also be used at the book fair at school in March. The Book Fair will be in school from 14th March. More information to follow.

  • Weekly reminders for week beginning 20th February 2023

    Sun 19 Feb 2023

Welcome back to the new half term everyone!

We look forward to welcoming everyone back to school tomorrow (Monday 20th February). We hope that you all had a lovely holiday and are ready and raring to go for the new term ahead!

Please remember that school starts at 8.55am and learning really does start straight away. Doors open at 8.45am and teachers are available from then. We really need to improve our attendance this term so please help us out by ensuring that children are in school everyday and on time unless it really is unavoidable!

    'We are...' Week
We have a busy but exciting week with all the children taking part in our annual 'We are...' Week.  Throughout the week the children will be doing lots of different things to inspire them about their futures. We have lots and lots of visitors coming in as well. On Friday, the children are invited to dress as a role they aspire to be when they are older.

    Amazing Attendance and Perfect Punctuality
This week is our termly focus Attendance and Punctuality Week. Please make every effort to ensure that your child is in school everyday and on time! We really do need to work together to improve the children's attendance across the school and need your help to do so. Together we CAN DO IT! Look out for the daily updates! Who will win the top prize?

    Pancake Day
As advertised before the holiday, the canteen will be serving pancakes as a desert option on Tuesday.

Is your child, or a child you know due to start Nursery in September 2023
We are looking forward to welcoming prospective parents / carers into school on Tuesday 10.00am. Please call the school to book this or a tour later in the term.

    Parents' Evening
Do not forget that on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week it is Parents' Evening after school. Teachers have been busy making appointments for everyone, so if, as yet, you do not have an appointment please contact your child's class teacher on Monday to make arrangements for a meeting. As you know, we are again offering a blended approach, so if you have not done so already, please do tell the teachers if you want a Zoom or face to face meeting. Please do allow your children to be part of the meeting so that they also know how they are doing and what they need to work on. The importance of the co-education of your child cannot be overstated.

The termly questionnaire for parents / carers came out via Class Dojo prior to the holiday and can be accessed using the link below:

As always we thank you for your feedback. We do appreciate that this takes time but your feedback is invaluable to us as we continually strive to improve the educational experience we provide for the children and families we serve.

    Mental Health Week.
As you may already know this week is National Mental Health Week. With a considerable rise in the number of children and young people affected by mental health, this is an event close to the school’s heart. To show our support for this, throughout the week the children will be taking part in various assemblies and activities. There will also be a daily post on Class Dojo and Social Media for you all - watch this space!
