  • Weekly reminders for week beginning 26th November 2018

    With Christmas fast approaching and the hitting of December next weekend we are gearing up for the Festive Season at Clockhouse!

     

    Year 6

    Year 6 are off to the British Museum on Monday. Please ensure reply slips are returned if you have not done so already and that arrival to school is prompt on Monday morning.

     

    Year 1, 2 and 3

    The Police will be in on Tuesday working with children across Year 1, 2 and 3 please do take the time to talk to the children about this after school.

     

    Year 4, 5 and 6

    The Police will be in on Tuesday working with children across Year 4, 5 and 6. Please do take the time to talk to the children about this after school.

     

    Year 2

    Year 2 will be welcoming a real explorer on Thursday. This will be a great way for the children to further immerse themselves in their Polar Regions theme and we are sure they will come home with lots to tell you!

     

    Cake Sale

    Friday sees the Christmas Fundraising Day and the annual Cake Sale. Please send any cakes into school either on or before Friday as well as giving the children a small amount to buy some cakes!

     

    Sport

    Good luck to the Sports Hall Athletics teams who represent the school in a Borough competition on Wednesday and Thursday and to the Tag Rugby Team who play St Peters (Brentwood) away on Friday.

     

    PA Event

    Do not forget that the PA will be holding the Christmas Crafts for Reception and Key Stage 1 on 10th December and a Christmas Disco for Key Stage 2 on 11th December. Please return reply slips ASAP to avoid disappointment.

    Thank you to you all for your overwhelming support and generosity for the very worthy cause that is Children in Need, there was certainly some fabulous costumes. As soon as we have done all the counting we will let you know how much we raised!

     

    Brain Food Breakfast Bagels

    Tuesday sees that launch of Brain Food Breakfast Bagels. Look out for staff in the playground with bagels for the children to eat before school. If you wish to know more information follow the link below:

    Reception and Year 1

    Please do not forget there is a meeting for parents / carers at 9.15am on Tuesday to introduce the Fluoride Varnish Program. Please go to the Key Stage 1 Office.

     

    Year 1 and Year 3

    Both Year 1 and Year 3 will be taking part in a Healthy Workshop on Wednesday during the school day. Please ensure the children have P.E. kits in school.

     

    Year 2

    Please remember that Miss Ettridge will be holding 2 meetings on Thursday for all Year 2 parents regarding the children's statutory tests that will be taking place in May and the end of key Stage expectations. The meetings will take place in the Key Stage 1 building at 2.45pm and 5pm, please do try to attend one or the other.

     

    Year 4

    Year 4 are off to the Synagogue on Thursday. Please ensure children arrive to school promptly and that consent forms have been handed in.

     

    Sport

    Good luck to the Netball team who play Parklands away on Tuesday after school and Squirrels Heaths away on Thursday. Good luck also the boys football team who play Rainham Village away on Wednesday.

    Thank you to all those who helped make Attendance and Punctuality week a success. We hope the children enjoyed Best of British week and the children were excited to come home and talk to you about this. Thank you for your lovely comments regarding the poppies on display on Friday - watch out for a video coming your way soon.

     

    Year 1

    We look forward to welcoming our Year 1 parents for Learn with my Child on Thursday morning at 9.30am - 11.45. Please come for as little or as much as you can. As with the other year groups, regrettably we are unable to accommodate younger siblings at these events.

     

    Children In Need

    On Friday, we are once again supporting the very worthy cause of Children in Need whose theme this year is 'Spotacular'. In doing so we will be having a non-uniform day where we will be showing our support by coming dressed in something spotty (a small donation in the bucket is all that is needed)! All donations received for this will be sent to Children in Need. Please help us support this worthy cause!


    Travelling Book Fair

    The Travelling Book Fair arrives at Clockhouse this week and will be open to families to browse and buy after school on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Monday next week. This will be in the Key Stage 1 hall. Please do take a look.

     

    School Nurse Drop In

    Should you wish to speak to the School Nurse she will be available for you to 'drop in' on Tuesday 2.30pm - 3.30pm. Please come to the Key Stage 2 office.


    Sport

    Good luck to the Tag Rugby team who play in the Borough competition on Tuesday, to the girls football team who play Crowlands Primary at home on Thursday and finally to the boys Year 4 football team who play in '3 team' football on Friday - again at home. Please do come along and cheer the teams on if you can.

    It was lovely to see everyone back at school last week and hear about their half term holiday. Thank you also to all those that attended Parent's Evening, it was lovely to see you all. If you have not yet managed to meet with your child's teacher please do speak to them to make arrangements for this to happen this week.

     

    Best of British Week

    This week we will be celebrating Britain and the British Culture as per the letter that came out last week. We have lots of exciting things planned and are really looking forward to the street party on Friday 9th November as part of this. The children can come dressed in blue to celebrate anti- bullying day.

     

    Amazing Attendance and Perfect Punctuality

    This week is our termly focus Attendance Week. Please make every effort to ensure that your child is in school everyday and on time! We really do need to work together to improve the children's attendance across the school. Together we CAN DO IT! What will the reward be this time and who will win?

     

    Year 4

    Year 4 will be working with coaches from West Ham on Tuesday morning, please ensure childrne have PE Kit in school.

     

    Year 5

    Year 5 will be working with Royal Liberty School to develop their Science knowledge on Tuesday.


    We look forward to welcoming our Year 5 parents for Learn with my Child on Thursday morning at 9.10am - 11.45. Please come for as little or as much as you can. As with the other year groups, regrettably we are unable to accommodate younger siblings at these events.


    Year 3 and 4

    The children will be taking part in a Road Safety Workshop on Friday afternoon. Please do take some time to talk to the children about this important safety aspect.

     

    Sport

    Good luck to the Tag Rugby team who play Crowlands at home on Monday. Good luck also to the Cross Country team who are taking part in the Borough Cross country event on Thursday and to the Netball team who take on Squirrels Heath away after school on the same day. A final good luck to the football team who play Mawney at home on Friday.
