  • Weekly reminders for week beginning 26th March 2018

    It seems impossible to believe that we are already coming to the end of the Spring Term, it only seems like 2 minutes since we returned after the February half term holiday!

     

    We certainty have a busy last week of term however!

     

    Nursery and Reception

    We look forward to welcoming our Nursery and Reception parents into school throughout the week foe Easter Activities. If you are not sure what your time for coming in is, please speak to a member of the Nursery or Reception staff.

     

    Year 5

    Year 5 are really looking forward to performing Aladdin on Wednesday at 2pm and again at 7pm. Please see Mrs Mortimer in the school office for tickets if you have not got your tickets already.

     

    Sport

    Good luck to the football team who play Valance Primary away on Monday (Year 3 and 4) and Tuesdya (Year 5 and 6)

     

    Please do not forget that we finish school for the Easter holidays on Thursday 29th March at normal time.

    As we move closer to the Easter holidays, we have another busy week ahead this week and are looking forward to everything that is happening!

     

    Year 1

    Year 4 are off to the Methodist Church on Monday, please ensure that consent forms are returned to school on Monday if you have not done so already.

     

    Year 4

    Year 4 are off to the Good Shepherd Church on Tuesday, please ensure that consent forms are returned to school on Monday if you have not done so already.

     

    Year 3

    Year 3 are looking forward to welcoming their families to their Cafe on Thursday. This will be starting at 2.45pm.

     

    Wednesday

    On Wednesday there will be a number of staff from other schools coming in to look at what we are doing at Clockhouse. They will be available and wanting to talk to parents and carers before and after school in the playground, please do go and talk to them.

     

    Travelling Book Fair

    The travelling book fair arrives at Clockhouse this week. The book fair will be open Tuesday 20th, Thursday 22nd and Friday 23rd March after school in the Key stage 1 hall. Please feel free to come and browse as well as purchase.

     

    Sports Relief

    On Friday we will be supporting Sports Relief, please remember that for a small donation we ask that the children come to school dressed in sports clothes. They will be taking part in various outdoor sporting activities throughout the day so please ensure they are appropriately dressed with appropriate footwear.

     

    Sport

    Good luck to Orienterring team who take part in a competition on Wednesday and to the Gym Tem who take part in a competition on Friday.

    Well done and thank you for supporting World Book Day, there certainly were some fantastic costumes.

     

    Year 5

    Year 5 are off to Royal Liberty School on Monday afternoon (China) and Tuesday lunchtime (Japan and India) for some exciting Science learning. Please ensure that permission strips are returned in plenty of time if you have not done so already.


    Year 2

    Year 2 are off to Headingham Castle on Tuesday for the day. Please ensure that voluntary coributions are sent in and that permission strips are returned in plenty of time if you have not done so already.

     

    Year 3

    On Wednesday, Year 3 are off to Barleyland for the day. Please ensure that voluntary coributions are sent in and that permission strips are returned in plenty of time if you have not done so already.

     

    Phonics Workshop - Year 1

    Miss Ettridge and Mrs Ingram will be hosting the workshop to help parents support their children at home with develope their phonic skills, that was postponed. This will be held of 14th March at 5.30pm.

     

    Year 4

    We look forward to welcoming our Year 4 parents for Learn with my Child on Thursday morning at 9.30am. The morning will finish at 11.45am. Please come for as little or as much as you can. Regrettably we are unable to accommodate younger siblings at these events.


    Year 5 and 6

    The local Police will be in school on Friday afternoon to talk to Year 5 and 6 about online safety. Please do take the time to talk to your children about this inportant aspect of their safety.

    Well done and thank you for your support last week!

     

    Year 1 - France

    France will be celebrating their 100% attendance achievement from the week before last on Monday with a non-uniform day - please note this is only for France!

     

    Year 5

    20 of our Year 5 children are off to see Aladdin on Thursday. They will be seeing a performance of the show as well as taking part in a workshop.

     

    Year 6

    From Monday and throughout the week, the Year 6 children will be sitting Mock SATs tests. Please speak to your child's class teacher after the tests if you wish to know how they got on do that you can further support them at home - every bit really does help!

     

    World Book Day

    Following the cancellation of World Book Day last week, we will be celebrating this annual event on Friday (9th March). On this day the children are invited to come to school dressed as a book character.

     

    Mother's Day

    The PA will be holding our first Mother's Day sale on Friday during school time. If you wish for your child to purchase a small gift please send them to school with a small amount of money (50p - £3.00) so that they can purchase a gift.


    Sport

    Good luck to the swimming team who take part in the Borough gala on Wednesday and to the Tag Rugby team who play St Peters on Friday.
