  • Weekly reminders for week beginning 28th January 2019

    Another good week was had a Clockhouse last week and as always we thank you for the support you give us with all that we do! We have another busy week ahead.

     

    Year 5 and 6

    The children will be taking part in a Road Safety Workshop on Monday afternoon. Please do take some time to talk to the children about this important safety aspect.


    Year 6

    We look forward to welcoming our Year 6 parents for Learn with my Child on Thursday morning at 9.10am - 11.45. Please come for as little or as much as you can. As with the other year groups, regrettably we are unable to accommodate younger siblings at these events.

     

    No Cost Uniform Shop

    Our No Cost Uniform Shop will be back open on Thursday after school in the Key Stage 1 ICT Suite. Please do come along as there is lots of uniform etc. to give away.

     

    Sport

    Good luck to the girls football team who take part in a competition on Thursday and to the lower Key Stage 2 to boys football team who play Pinewood away on Friday.

    Another good week was had a Clockhouse last week and as always we thank you for the support you give us with all that we do! We have another busy week ahead.


    Arts Week

    This week, we see our first ever Arts Week and we are very much looking forward to working with the children to create some wonderful pieces of art work throughout the week including a whole school piece. Keep an eye out for pictures or our budding artists at work coming your way.


    Year 6

    From Monday and throughout the week, the Year 6 children will be sitting Mock SATs tests. Please speak to your child's class teacher after the tests if you wish to know how they got on do that you can further support them at home - every bit really does help!

     

    Governor Day

    Our Governors will be in school on Tuesday and will be in the playground at the start and end of the day, please do take the time to speak to them should you wish to.

     

    Sport

    Good luck to the girls and boys football teams who take part in the Havering Football League tournament on Thursday.

    It was lovely to welcome everyone back last week and we were pleased to hear about everyone's Christmas Holidays. Thank you for the very positive start we have made to the new term - the children were certainly returned ready and eager for learning.

     

    Some children still do not have the necessary equipment they require - full P.E. kits, water bottles, coats, home learning, reading books and diaries and anything else they need. Please ensure these are all in school by Monday. Please can we also remind you of the importance of full school uniform and that this along with coats are clearly named.

     

    Please remember that clubs restart this week unless you have been advised otherwise.

     

    Reading

    Please can we also take this opportunity to remind that Year Group Ready, Steady Read sessions take place on the following days:

    Reception - Tuesday (8.50am)

    Year 1 - Thursday (8.50am)

    Year 2 - Tuesday (8.50am)

    Year 3 - Friday (8.50am)

    Year 4 - Wednesday (8.50am)

    Year 5 - Wednesday (8.50am)

    Year 6 - Friday (8.50am)

    School Nurse Drop In

    Should you wish to speak to the School Nurse she will be available for you to 'drop in' on Tuesday 2.30pm - 3.30pm. Please come to the Key Stage 2 Office.

     

    Sport

    Good luck to the boys football team who kick of this year's fixture with a match against Gidea Park Primary School, this is followed by the Premier League Football Tournament on Thursday afternoon. Good luck also to the Boccia team who take part in the annual Borough Tournament on Thursday afternoon.

    Happy New Year everyone!

     

    We all hope that you have had a fantastic Christmas and that 2019 has got off to a good start for you all! On behalf of all the staff a huge thank you for all the lovely cards and gifts we received prior to the Christmas break.

     

    That time has come and as we are sure you are aware and we are back to school on Tuesday (8th January). Tomorrow is a staff training day so we look forward to seeing everyone bright and early on Tuesday to hear about their holidays and adventures. Bagels will be back and Year 6 Booster is on.

     

    Please ensure that all the children return to school with all the necessary equipment they require - full P.E. kits, water bottles, coats, home learning, reading books and diaries and anything else they need.     Please remember that there are no clubs this week with the exception of Year 6 booster classes and Homework clubs which will go ahead as usual.

    Please remember that Year 5 are off to the Royal Observatory on Wednesday, please ensure consent forms etc. are returned on Tuesday if you have not done so already.

     

    Year 1

    Please remember that Year 1 are off to Redbridge Museum on Thursday and Friday (depending on the class). Please ensure consent forms etc. are returned on Tuesday if you have not done so already.
