What a fantastic first week back at school - well done to our fantastic Clockhouse community!
It was absolutely lovely to welcome all the children from Year 1 through to Year 6 back to school last week as well as welcoming new staff and children along with their families. We were all pleased to see everyone and the children seemed to settle quickly, we are all looking forward to an action packed and exciting year ahead.
We hope that you like the new Home / School Learning Diaries, we hope the information in them will further help you to support your child at home. Please ensure that the children bring these to school with them everyday and that you sign them and add any comments. A letter will be coming out in the near future about the new reading reward initiatives we have although we are sure your children will have already told you about them!
Last week, some children did not have all the equipment they require - particularly full P.E. kits, water bottles, etc. Please ensure P.E. kits are in school and that earrings are removed. Please can we also remind you of the importance of full school uniform and that this, along with coats are clearly named.
Reading Eggs and Eggspress / Mathletics
Please be aware that Mathletics and Reading Eggs / Eggspress will be down at the beginning of next week – this is whilst the Admin staff transfer names to the new classes.
Welcome to our Reception children who all start on Monday. We look forward to welcoming the children and their families to Clockhouse.
Year 1 - 6
As you will have seen from the letter that went out last week, this weeks sees Time Table Rock Star week! The staff have been planning lots of fun activities around times tables including the launch of Time Table Rock Stars. We would like to invite you into school to listen to a live performance of your child’s class song and have arranged for different classes to perform their song on different days so that it is easier for parents/carers to come into school to watch the performance if they have more than one child at the school. We will also be recording some of the performances of children with consent and adding this to the school’s website.
Please see the list below to identify which day your child’s class will be inviting parents and carers in:
Year 1 - Friday 15th September at 2:50pm
Year 2 - Friday 15th September at 3:00pm
Year 3 - Wednesday 13th September at 2:50pm
Year 4 - Wednesday 13th September at 3:00pm
Year 5 - Thursday 14th September at 2:50pm
Year 6 - Thursday 14th September at 3:00pm
Thank you in advance for your support. We look forward to seeing the children’s rock star outfits on Monday 11th September!
From Monday and throughout the week, the children will be sitting Mock SATs tests, this is so that the children can see what the tests are like as well as to get a bench mark for the teachers to inform learning and teaching. Please speak to your child's class teacher after the tests if you wish to know how they got on do that you can further support them at home - every bit really does help!
Swimming starts for Japan (Year 5) on Monday. The children will be leaving school at 10.30am so please ensure that children come in with all they need for swimming. Please be aware that this year each class will be going for 1 term. As there will be less children in the pool this will improve the quality of learning and teaching.
Year 3 - 6
Please ensure that Walk Home letters are sent back tomorrow. The new list will start as of Monday and if we have not had permission your child will not be allowed to leave the school.
