Miss Simmonds and Miss Howlett welcome you to the class where the motto is - In Greenland, it's kind of fun to do the impossible.
I am Miss Simmonds, the Head of Greenland and I work alongside Miss Howlett (class teacher). We also work with Mrs Hodge (HLTA), Mrs Goff (LA), Miss King (LA) and a number of other staff who help us. In Greenland, we support children to develop their communication and emotional development. The children enjoy learning through a bespoke curriculum and a range of engaging learning opportunities in both core and foundation subjects. We use play as a tool to develop our social skills and awareness. We take a holistic approach to learning and each child is supported to meet their personalised targets.
We love to spend time outside and enjoy our OPAL sessions; this allows the children to develop their communication and team work skills. We are also very lucky to have a sensory room, soft play and immersion room which all the children can access to support their emotional regulation, communication and to create active learning opportunities.
