Music At Clockhouse

Music

At Clockhouse Primary School we have a rich and exciting music curriculum.  .

We aim for music lessons to be active and enjoyable, where children can express themselves and be creative while learning about the different musical elements.

There are many other opportunities for children to experience music outside of their weekly lessons, such as singing songs in class and in assemblies that help them understand more about themselves and the world around them.  Plus we have a variety of music clubs; orchestra, choir, music makers and rhythm kids!

Parent Performers

Are you a musician or performer in a musical group? Or do you know a local musical group that could perform at school?  If so, we would love to hear from you as we are looking for more opportunities to work with the local community to enhance the breadth of children’s high-quality live music experiences.

Please contact Miss Kearns if you are interested.

Music at Home

You can help to enrich your child’s learning at home by singing nursery rhymes, or even chart hits!  Encourage your child to sing along with you and dance to the beat or rhythm.

Did you know that doing these simple things can help develop your child’s language and reading ability?

Would your child like to learn an instrument?

Havering Music School currently provide a number of children in key stage two with piano, flute, guitar, violin and drum lessons.

Lessons start from £6.50 per week for the ‘bronze’ package.  This includes a 20 minute shared lesson (2 pupils), a starter pack (containing first tutor book), access to 30 minute ensemble (Samba on Tuesday 3.30-4pm) and a weekly music theory lesson (Monday lunchtime 12.40-1pm).

If you are interested in your child learning one of the instruments above, or another orchestral instrument, please contact Mrs Kearns (Clockhouse Music Leader) or email Havering Music School – musicschool@havering.gov.uk for more details.
