They were learning all about the Hindu festival of Holi. Holi is a festival that celebrates spring, love, and new life. For many Hindu's Holi is a time for fun. It is a colourful festival, with dancing, singing and throwing of powder paint and coloured water, which year 3 were able to see for themselves!
Although currently unable to sing and dance, they enjoyed a demonstration of paint throwing before getting involved in throwing and flicking paint themselves to create their own celebratory masterpiece, eating a selection of colourful foods and making puppets to retell the story of Holika and Prahlad. The children and adults alike really enjoyed this memorable learning experience!
