Clockhouse Primary School’s School Parliament is made up of Key Stage 2 pupils during the first part of the school year. These pupils were elected by their peers after preparing speeches and being democratically voted for to represent the views of all children and to help improve our school. This year, members of the School Parliament have taken on the important role of Clockhouse Champions.
As Clockhouse Champions, pupils have a range of responsibilities. They meet half-termly to discuss school improvement and pupil voice, sharing ideas and concerns raised by their classes. In addition, they support the wider school community by welcoming and touring visitors around the school.
This half term, the Clockhouse Champions have focused on learning the school tour route and confidently explaining our school values at key points around the building, acting as positive role models and ambassadors for Clockhouse Primary School.
The School Parliament meets once every half term to discuss and resolve issues that matter to pupils. These may include school lunches, behaviour, fundraising ideas or ways to improve school life. Members are responsible for helping to carry out agreed actions, such as deciding how fundraising money is spent, improving Reward Time across the school or planning new playground activities.
Being a member of the School Parliament is a position of responsibility. As the Parliament continues to develop and become more effective, pupils gain valuable experience in leadership, teamwork, communication and democracy.
Our School
We want our school to be a place that everyone enjoys coming to, where people know and understand each other and feel happy and cared for.
We want Clockhouse to be a safe place where children can be trusted to make sensible choices by following school rules and living by our school values. We expect everyone to be honest, to show good manners and to treat others and school property with respect.
We aim to be proud of our work and to try our best every day. We keep going when learning feels challenging, listen carefully to others and enjoy discovering new and interesting things about the world.
If everyone works together in this way, we will remember our time at Clockhouse Primary School fondly for the rest of our lives.
