#ourclockhousefamily Welcome to our school! Are you looking for a place in 2025 (Nursery or Reception) - book on one of our tours!

Coronavirus Update - 22.3.20

Good afternoon Clockhouse

This is a bit different to the normal weekly reminders and we will be genuinely sad not to see you all tomorrow! We hope you are all ok and we know you are doing your very best in these unprecedented circumstances. We do ask that you do not put undue pressure on yourselves as this is new territory for us all.

Please do be aware that you will not be allowed into school as of tomorrow, so please do not arrive tomorrow morning unless you have been joined to Class Hawaii on Dojo and have received a message from me this morning. This is for those that need childcare and meet the criteria as defined by the Government.

There are a few things that you need to know:

  • There will be school staff in school everyday, but this will be on a rota basis.
  • The best way to contact teachers / school staff is messaging via Class Dojo, they will be online throughout the day and will get back to you as soon as they can.
  • The school phones will only be manned between 7.45am and 4.30pm. Please do not hesitant to call, even if it is only for a chat. If we cannot talk at that moment, someone will get back to you as soon as they can. Please only use option 3 and 5, as other lines will not be manned due to the reduced work force each day.
  • We will be asking for a weekly return from those key workers who may need child care for the next week, please wait to be asked for this. Please do keep in mind that the government are very clear that ‘you should only send your child to school if you have to, because your work is critical to the COVID-19 response. If you are able to keep your child at home, you should’.
  • Should your child be eligible for Free School Meals and moving forward you decide that you need to access this, please alert us in good time. All those who will have lunched prepared for them tomorrow have been joined to The Lunchroom on Dojo and will receive a message later.

We have a list of different ways to keep in touch so watch this space! We will be setting small daily challenges for those who are at home and ask that you share some photos with us of that you are getting up to, please share via your own child’s story or messaging service. As far as is possible we will share some of these with you all via all the different platforms we have. By sharing with us via class dojo, we will take this as your consent for wider sharing. If you do not want photos shared please do not send them. We will also be sending a whole school message every day. Watch this space!

These are very strange, unprecedented times. I really am doing my best as are the team but please bear with us whilst we get into a routine.

I am sure you will want to join with me in thanking those in our community who are front line and key workers and also our great staff team who are working so hard during this difficult time.

Thank you for your kind messages and on-going support, it really keeps us going and makes us smile.

We are still one community and are here for you all. Our school – a family and a home for everyone!

Keep smiling and stay safe.

Mrs Savidge
