Thank you to everyone who helped us remember our much loved member of staff on Friday, I know it meant a lot to us and the family.
The children have all settled into the year and we are certainly seeing some fabulous learning taking place across the school. As I walk around the school, it is wonderful to see them so settled, working so hard and being 'Relentless and Rigorous'. As always, thank you for your on-going support - it really is a team effort in every sense of the word.

Thank you to all those who attended Meet the Teacher last week. It was lovely to welcome you. Thank you also to all those parents who are supporting their children and practising the children's reading and spellings with them at home as well as number bond and times tables. Please remember every time the children read at home and you sign their Reading Record book or send a message on Class Dojo, they get a raffle ticket and are entered into our weekly prize draw - you have to be in it to win it!

Year 6 will be taking part in their first Mock SATs test this week, please do support them and make sure they get plenty of rest so that they can do their best. This is to help the children prepare for their tests in May as well as to help to inform learning and teaching.

Another good week was had at Clockhouse last week. Many year groups enjoyed their Stunning Starter last week and got themselves fully immersed into their new theme!

I have to say the children have been nothing short of amazing since returning to school and we continue to be thankful to work with such a supportive community. It was lovely to welcome our new Reception children and many of our new Nursery children to Clockhouse last week and like the rest of our new children, they have settled so well. We look forward to welcoming more Nursery children this week.

We have a VERY exciting week ahead!

      Jean's Day
Friday will once again be the day where we honour and remember Mrs O'Connor with Jean’s Day. Mrs O'Connor was our former Librarian and Midday Supervision, who suddenly passed away in August 2022. Her favourite colour was purple / lilac so we are asking our Clockhouse family to wear something of this colour in her honour along with non-uniform (PE will continue on this day).

It was certainly lovely to welcome the children from Year 1 to Year 6 back to school as well as welcoming our Reception families for Stay and Play. The children certainly lived up to expectation and have taken returning to school in their stride. Their adaptability and resilience never ceases to amaze me. They settled so quickly into their classes with lots of learning taking place.

      Reception and Nursery

As you know jewellery is not permitted in school. Please ensure children do not come to school wearing this. This includes earrings which should not be worn for school for health and safety reasons.

      Things to be aware of
Following the success of last year, we will be continuing with Achievement Assembly on a Monday to get the week off to a fabulous start. On Monday we will be spending time talking about expectations and how rewards can be earned.

The Reading Raffle is back again - when reading with your child at home, please send the teacher a message on Class Dojo or fill in their Reading Diary so that the teacher knows they have read and the children can be awarded with a raffle ticket and entered into the weekly draw.

Hot Chocolate with the Head continues, children will celebrate with me on a weekly basis should they win this award. You will get a call if your child has won to ensure they have permission for this.

Please also remember that if children bring things to school, this is done so at your own risk (unless we have directly asked you to do so).
