    • Weekly reminders for week beginning 20th April 2026

      It was lovely to welcome the children and families back to school last week and hear all about the holidays that had been had. We hope that children had a good first week back and talked positively about their learning. They settled so quickly to their learning and their behaviour was so impressive in all aspects of school life! As always thank you for your on-going support you give to us each and every day.
       
      We have another busy week ahead.
       
      IMPORTANT
      Following the letter sent out last week, please remember that from Monday, all school gates, including the back gate and classroom doors will close at 9:00am. Any children who arrive after this time will need to report to the school office, where they will be signed in before going to class.
       
      Year 3 and 4
      As per the letter that was sent home last week, Year 3 and 4 will be taking part in a scooting experience on Monday.
       
      Year 4
      Year 4 are off to Kew Gardens on Tuesday. Please ensure that consent forms and money are returned by Monday at the latest if you have not done so already.
       
      Year 5
      Year 5 are off to the Library on Wednesday or Friday. Please ensure permissions slips are returned by Tuesday if you have not done so already.
       
      Year 6 
      Do not forget, there is a meeting regarding the Brighton trip on Wednesday. This will be at 5pm in the Key Stage 2 hall.
       
      Sport
      Good luck to the Year 3 and 4 Golf team who take part in the borough competition on Wednesday.
       
      Things to be aware of
      On Thursday we will have a team of photographers in taking promotional shots. Please ensure the children are in the correct uniform or PE kit - thank you in advance.
       
      Please remember that Monday 4th May is May Day and therefore the school will be closed. We will be back to normal on Tuesday 5th May.

      Welcome back to the Summer Term everyone! 

      We all hope that you have had a fantastic Easter Holiday and enjoyed some time with family and friends! We hope you also enjoyed lots of chocolate! 
       
      As you are aware we are back to school on Monday (13th April) and are looking forward to seeing everyone bright and early! As always our focus on attendance and punctuality continues so do please make sure that the children arrive on time everyday!
       
      Please can I take this opportunity to remind you of the importance of the children coming to school in full school uniform and full school PE Kit on PE Days. School uniform is part of the children's identity with the school and is therefore very important. Thank you in advance for your support and please speak to us if there are any problems.       Summer Term Dates

      Clubs
      Please be aware that clubs will resume this week as normal.
       
      Reception and Year 1
      The annual Fluoride Varnish visit from the Dental Team will be happening on Monday for Reception and Year 1.
       
      Year 3
      Year 3 are off to the Library on Thursday or Friday. Please ensure permissions slips are retruned by Tuesday if you have not done so already.
       
       
      Year 6
      Booster sessions continue for Year 6 this week. Please ensure children are on time and do attend. Attend all Booster sessions and earn your chance to win a very special prize!

      Well, it is almost impossible to believe that we are in the final week of the Spring term and at the end of another successful term at Clockhouse. As always we thank you for your unreserved support in all that we do. I am sure you are ready for the holiday and a good break come Thursday.
      Well done to everyone for trying so hard with OCAttendance - keep going. Keep a look out as I believe there may be a surprise visitor this week!
       
      Easter Bonnet Parade
      The annual Easter Bonnet Parade is definitely a Clockhouse tradition for Reception and Nursery. We look forward to welcoming Reception families on Wednesday. Bonnets at the ready!
       
      Year 1
      The Year 1 children are off to the Church on Monday morning. Please ensure that consent forms are returned by Monday at the latest if you have not done so already.
       
      Year 4
      The Year 4 children are off to The Barbican on Monday. Please ensure that consent forms and money are returned by Monday at the latest if you have not done so already.
       
      Year 6 
      Year 6 will continue with their final round Mock SATs test this week, please do support them and make sure they get plenty of rest so that they can do their best. This is to help the children prepare for their tests in May as well as to help to inform learning and teaching.
       
      Parents' Evening 
      Do not forget that on Monday and Tuesday (Year 6) / Tuesday and Thursday (Nursery - Year 5) of this week it is Parents' Evening after school. It is not too late to book an appointment if you have not done so already. Please use the link on School Story or ask Mrs Collins in the office, whi will be able to help you. As you know, we are offering a blended approach, so if you have not done so already, please do tell the teachers if you want a Zoom or face to face meeting.
       
      Please do allow your children to be part of the meeting so that they also know how they are doing and what they need to work on. The importance of the co-education of your child cannot be overstated.

      Another good week was had last week and we have another busy week ahead planned at Clockhouse.

      As always we thank you for your feedback. We do appreciate that this takes time but your feedback is invaluable to us as we continually strive to improve the educational experience we provide for the children and families we serve. 

      Group Photos
      Please be aware that class group photos will be being taken on Wednesday - uniform and best smiles at the ready! If your class has PE on Wednesday, Class Teachers will let you know the change of day for PE for this week via Class Dojo.

      Year 3
      The Year 3 children are off to the Natural History Museum on Monday. Please ensure that consent forms and payments are returned by Monday morning if you have not done so already.

      We look forward to welcoming our Year 3 parents / carers for Learn with my Child on Thursday morning at 9.10am - 10.10am. Please come for as little or as much as you can. As with the other year groups, regrettably we are unable to accommodate younger siblings at these events.

      Year 4
      The Year 4 children will be taking part in their Let's Locate Workshop on Wednesday. Please ensure that consent forms and payments are returned by Tuesday at the latest if you have not done so already.

      Year 5 - China
      China are off to Frameless on Thursday. Please ensure that consent forms and payments are returned by Tuesday at the latest if you have not done so already.

      Our Clockhouse Association (OCA) - Mother's Day Sale
      Following previous successes, OCA will be holding another Mother's Day sale on Friday during school time. All gifts will be £1.50. If you wish for your child to purchase a small gift please send them to school with a maximum of £3.00 so that they can purchase a gift.

      It was lovely to welcome the community back to school last week and to hear about everyone's holiday.
       
      We hope the children enjoyed 'We are...' Week and they came home inspired. Thank you also  for the support you showed for Amazing Attendance and Perfect Punctuality Week - well done everyone!
       
      After a very busy week we have a slightly quieter week ahead.

       
      World Book Day
      We have lots of exciting things arranged for World Book Day on Thursday. As per the information sent out, children are invited to come to school dressed as a book character or in their pyjamas on this day to help celebrate World Book Day. If you child does not want to dress up they will need to come to school in uniform. We also look forward to welcoming you into school, when you drop the children of in the morning, to read with them.  Please see the information that came out on Dojo for further details of the day.
       
      Sport
      Good luck to the Year 3 and 4 Football Team who take part in a borough competition on Wednesday.

      World Book Day £1 Vouchers
      We have received World Book Day vouchers for all the children at school. These vouchers give children £1 off a book and are accepted at all participating book shops. They may also be used at the book fair at school in March. The Book Fair will be in school and open to you all on 19th, 23rd and 24th March.

      Welcome back to the new half term everyone!

      We look forward to welcoming everyone back to school tomorrow (Monday 23rd February). We hope that you all had a lovely holiday and are ready and raring to go for the new term ahead!
       
      Please remember that learning starts as soon as the children arrive and everyone needs to be in school by 8.55am. Doors open at 8.45am and teachers are available from then. We really need to improve our attendance this term so please help us out by ensuring that children are in school everyday and on time unless it really is unavoidable!
       
      'We are...' Week
      We have a busy but exciting week with all the children taking part in our annual 'We are...' Week.  Throughout the week the children will be doing lots of different things to inspire them about their futures. We have lots and lots of visitors coming in as well. 
       
      Amazing Attendance and Perfect Punctuality
      This week is our termly focus Attendance and Punctuality Week. Please make every effort to ensure that your child is in school everyday and on time! We really do need to work together to improve the children's attendance across the school and need your help to do so. Together we CAN DO IT! Look out for the daily updates! Who will win the top prize?
       
      Year 1
      Year 1 are looking forward to their Great Fire of London experience on Tuesday. Please ensure contributions have been sent in by Monday. Thank you in advance.

      Thank you for your support in all we are trying to achieve.
       
      As the last week of the half term approaches, it is full steam ahead at Clockhouse!
       
      EYFS
      The children in Nursery and Reception are very excited about welcoming the Zoo to Clockhouse on Friday. This is to support their current learning. If you have any concerns please speak to your child's class teacher.
       
      Year 5
      We look forward to welcoming our Year 5 parents / carers on Thursday for Learn with my Child at 9.10am - 10.10am. Please come for as little or as much as you can. As with the other year groups, regrettably we are unable to accommodate younger siblings at these events.
       
      The final meeting for the Condover Hall residential visit is taking place on Wednesday at 5pm. This will be in the Key Stage 2 hall.
       
      Year 6

      Mental Health Week.
      As you may already know this week is National Mental Health Week. With a considerable rise in the number of children and young people affected by mental health, this is an event close to the school’s heart. To show our support for this, throughout the week the children will be taking part in various assemblies and activities. There will also be a daily post on Class Dojo and Social Media for you all - watch this space! There will also be activities for the children to get involved in at lunchtime in Tuesday.
       
      Special Dinner Day
      There is a Special Dessert Day on Thursday. The menu was sent out on Friday.

      It is hard to believe that we finish school for the half term on Friday (13th February) and return to school on Monday 23rd February. We hope you all have a great holiday!

      Thank you for your on-going support in all that we do. Another good week was had at Clockhouse last week and the children continue to work as hard as they can each and every day. As another week approaches, it is full steam ahead at Clockhouse!
       
      Nursery
      We are very much looking forward to welcoming Nursery parents into school on Tuesday and Wednesday for Learn with My Child. Please speak to the Nursery Team if you are not sure which day to attend. 
       
      Year 2
      We look forward to welcoming our Year 2 parents / carers for Learn with my Child on Thursday morning at 9.10am - 10.10am. Please come for as little or as much as you can. As with the other year groups, regrettably we are unable to accommodate younger siblings at these events.
       
      Year 5
      Year 5 have their Space Workshop on Wednesday. Thank you to all those who have already paid for this. If you have not done so, please do so by the end of the day on Monday.
       
      Year 6

      Another good week was had a Clockhouse last week and as always we thank you for the support you give us with all that we do at all times! 
       
      All our visitors were certainly impressed with what they saw and our children were nothing short of amazing - as always! In fact many of the visitors said they are 'incredible'. 
       
      Reception
      We look forward to welcoming our Reception parents for Learn with my Child on Wednesday and Thursday (please check with teachers if you are not sure which day you are due to come). As with the other year groups, regrettably we are unable to accommodate younger siblings at these events.
       
      Year 1
      Year 1 are off to the Discovery Centre at Stratford on Thursday. Please ensure that consent forms etc. are returned by Monday at the latest if you have not done so already.
       
      Year 5 and 6
      Years 5 and 6 will be taking part in a Road Safety Workshop on Wednesday afternoon. Please do talk to the children about this when they come home. 
       
      OCA (Our Clockhouse Association)
      OCA are also busy planning their Spring and Summer events. If you would like to join the OCA Team at any point, please speak to Mr Koten or let the office know who will pass a message to him.
       
      Things to be aware of
      Please remember that all up and coming trips etc. can be paid on Parent Pay or via the school office. Please remember that you can also pay by card at the school office. We really do value and need your contributions for such events to go ahead. Thank you in advance.

      Another good week was had at Clockhouse last week and as always we thank you for the support you give us with all that we do! 
       
      Thank you for all those who supported us and had the special dinner on Thursday. We hope the children enjoyed it!
       
      We are very much looking forward to welcoming lots of visitors to Clockhouse this week who would like to see all the fabulous things that we do.
       
      Super STEM Week
      We are very excited that we have our first Super STEM Week. During this week the children will be engaging in lots of exciting and engaging learning based on Maths, Computing, Design and Technology and Science. As per the letter, do not forget that Monday is a dress up day. This week aims to deepen the children's understanding is to deepen the children's understanding of this area of the curriculum as week as excite her. 
       
      Governor Day
      Our Governors will be in school on Wednesday and will be in the playground at the start and end of the day, please do take the time to speak to them should you wish to.
       
      Exciting Times for Clockhouse
      We have a number of Headteachers and Senior Leaders from all over the country visiting the school on Friday to learn about what we do. We cannot wait to showcase our wonderful school!
       
      Year 1

      Year 4

      Choir
      Good luck to the Choir who are off to the O2 on Thursday to take part in the Young Voices event.

    • Weekly reminders for week beginning 12th January 2026

      It was lovely to welcome everyone back to school last week and hear all about their holiday. It was certainly business as usual and the children were quick and eager to get on with their learning.
       
      As requested last week, please ensure the children come to school with all the necessary equipment they require - water bottles, coats, reading books and diaries and anything else they need. Please can we also remind you of the importance of full school uniform / PE uniform and that this along with coats are clearly named. 
       
      Year 4 
      Two of the three classes with be taking part in a 'Best Buddies' workshop run by HEST on Tuesday. The other class with have their workshop in the coming weeks.
       
      Year 1, 2, 3 and 4
      Years 1, 2, 3 and 4 will be taking part in a Road Safety Workshop on Thursday afternoon. Please do talk to the children about this when they come home.

      Please remember that all clubs resume this week. Look out for letters regarding some new clubs coming.
       
      Special Dinner for all
      On Thursday we have the first special dinner day of 2026. It would be really good to get as many people as possible having dinner on Thursday as this determines some of our schools funding. We really do appreciate your help in this matter. A copy of the menu was shared on Friday.
       
      Dentist Checks
      The dental team will be in school on Thursday to carry out the dental checks for children in Reception and Year 1.
       
      Is your child, or a child you know due to start Reception in September 2026?
      Please remember that applications for Reception 2026 need to be submitted by 15th January. Even if you child attends our Nursery you MUST still apply. If they have an older sibling in the school, please ensure you make this claim as well. This is done through the Local Authority website.

      Happy New Year everyone!

       
      We all hope that you have had a fantastic Christmas and that 2026 has got off to a good start for you all! On behalf of all the staff a huge thank you for all the lovely cards and gifts we received prior to the Christmas break. It really was so appreciated.
