    • Weekly reminders for week beginning 20th October 2025

      What a lovely week last week was - well done to you all and thank you for all the support you continue to show us. We are lucky to work with such a wonderful community.
       
      It is hard to believe that we are going into the last week of this half term already - where is the time going. It is certainly going to be a busy and exciting one!
       
      Year 5
      We look forward to welcoming our Year 5 (Tuesday - 9.10-10.30) parents for Learn with my Child. Please come for as little or as much as you can. As with the other year groups, regrettably we are unable to accommodate younger siblings at these events.
       
      Year 6
      Year 6 have their Viking Day on Thursday. We are looking forward to seeing some fantastic costumes or bright colours for Bright Day if they wish.
       
      Parents' Evening 
      Do not forget that on Wednesday and Thursday of this week it is Parents' Evening after school. If you do not yet have an appointment please book this on line. If you have any issues, please contact Mrs Collins in the office. As you know, we are offering a blended approach, so if you have not done so already, please do tell the teachers if you want a Zoom meeting otherwise we will assume you will be attending in person.
       
      Please do allow your children to be part of the meeting so that they also know how they are doing and what they need to work on. The importance of the co-education of your child cannot be overstated
       
      Natasha Brind's Bright Day
      On Thursday, we invite our whole community to come to school in bright colours. It would be lovely to see parents / carers getting involved as well. This is in memory of Natasha, our much loved member of staff who sadly and very unexpectedly passed away three years ago. If you would like to donate to Cancer Research, a charity dear to Natasha and her family, please do so but there is no obligation.
       
      OCA (Our Clockhouse Association) Sweet Stall
      OCA will be holding a Sweet Stall event after school on Thursday. Look out for the  stalls around the site on Thursday after school. Sweet bags are £1.00. Please do support them.

      As the nights begin to draw in, it is full steam ahead at Clockhouse as we prepare for another week.
       
      A big thank you to you all for showing the support you do. We are lucky to work with such a wonderful and supportive community.
       
      Year 2

      Year 3
      Year 3 are off to Barleylands on Tuesday. Please ensure arrival to school is prompt so that the coaches can leave on time. Please also ensure that if permission slips or money has not been sent in that these are in by Monday at the latest. Thank you in advance.

      It is hard to believe that we are already a week into October - where is the time going! 

      Thank you to all of those who showed their support for the school on Thursday by having a school dinner! 
       
      Harvest Festival
      On Tuesday we will be having our annual Harvest Festival with the children. As per the letter that came out earlier in the term, we will be collecting for the Food Bank who are in great need at the moment. Please send donations in with the children and we will pass these on
       
      World Mental Health Day
      On Friday we will be supporting World Mental Health Day. This is a charity close to the school's heart and we ask that the children come to school in non-uniform including something yellow - this can be a small as a hair clip, a pattern on socks etc. to show their support. If you wish to donate this will also be gratefully received. PE will continue as normal. 
      Year 4 
      Year 4 have their annual Egyptian Day on Friday. We are looking forward to seeing some fantastic costumes or yellow for Yellow Day if they wish.
       
      Sport
      Good luck to the Year 5 and 6 Cross Country Team who take part in a Borough Competition on Tuesday.
       
      School Closure

      Open Evening is coming up (22nd and 23rd October). Letters and the information regarding our new booking system will be coming home in the near future.

      Another good week was had at Clockhouse last week with another busy week coming up. As always thank you for all you do and your on-going support.

      Governor Day
      Our Governors will be in school on Tuesday and will be in the playground at the start of the day, please do take the time to speak to them should you wish to.
       
      Reception
      We look forward to welcoming our Reception parents for Learn with my Child on Tuesday and Wednesday (please check with teachers if you are not sure which day you are due to come). As with the other year groups, regrettably we are unable to accommodate younger siblings at these events.
       
      Year 5
      Please remember that Year 5 start swimming on Monday, please ensure that they have all they need.
       
      Year 6 
      Please do not forget that you are invited to attend a meeting on Wednesday at 5pm regarding SATs and the Year 6 residential. Please come to the Key Stage 2 building. We look forward to seeing you. 
       
      Special Dinner for all
      On Thursday we have the first special dinner day of the year. It would be really good to get as many people as possible having dinner on Thursday as this determines some of our schools funding. We really do appreciate your help in this matter. The menu was sent on Class Dojo last week.
       
      Is your child, or a child you know due to start Nursery in September 2026
      We are looking forward to welcoming prospective parents / carers into school on Thursday 10.00am and 4.00pm. Please call the school to book this or a tour later in the term. 
       
      Things to be aware of
      Hopefully you saw the letters about the trips we have planned for the year, which came home last week. We hope this is useful.
       
      On 10th October we will be celebrating World Mental Health Day. Children are invited to wear something yellow to recognise this. A letter will be coming out about this.

    • Weekly reminders for week beginning 22nd September 2025

      Thank you to everyone who helped us remember our much loved member of staff on Friday, I know it meant a lot to us and the family. 
      The children have all settled into the year and we are certainly seeing some fabulous learning taking place across the school. As I walk around the school, it is wonderful to see them so settled, working so hard and being 'Relentless and Rigorous'. As always, thank you for your on-going support - it really is a team effort in every sense of the word.
       
      Thank you to all those who attended Meet the Teacher last week. It was lovely to welcome you. Thank you also to all those parents who are supporting their children and practising the children's reading and spellings with them at home as well as number bond and times tables. Please remember every time the children read at home and you sign their Reading Record book or send a message on Class Dojo, they get a raffle ticket and are entered into our weekly prize draw - you have to be in it to win it!
       
      Year 6 
      Year 6 will be taking part in their first Mock SATs test this week, please do support them and make sure they get plenty of rest so that they can do their best. This is to help the children prepare for their tests in May as well as to help to inform learning and teaching.
       
      We look forward to welcoming our Year 6 parents / carers on Thursday for Learn with my Child at 9.10am - 10.30am (approximately). Please come for as little or as much as you can. As with the other year groups, regrettably we are unable to accommodate younger siblings at these events.
       
      Year 5

    • Weekly reminders for the week beginning 15th September 2025

      Another good week was had at Clockhouse last week. Many year groups enjoyed their Stunning Starter last week and got themselves fully immersed into their new theme! 
       
      I have to say the children have been nothing short of amazing since returning to school and we continue to be thankful to work with such a supportive community. It was lovely to welcome our new Reception children and many of our new Nursery children to Clockhouse last week and like the rest of our new children, they have settled so well. We look forward to welcoming more Nursery children this week.
       
      We have a VERY exciting week ahead!
       
      Meet the Teacher
      Thank you to all those who came to Meet the Teacher. We enjoyed meeting you and hope you found it useful. Meet the Teacher continues this week. Teachers will be in classrooms straight after school and available until 4pm. Please do come and say hello and see your child's classroom. This week is as follows:

      Thursday 18th September - Greenland (2.45pm)

      Swimming
      Swimming starts on Monday for Year 4 and Greenland. Year 4 will be swimming everyday for the next two weeks so please ensure that they come prepared. Any questions please ask.
       
      Art, Art and more Art
      A Monday and Tuesday the children from Year 1 to 6 will be taking part in this years Wow Days. Some of the children will even get to work with an art company who will be joining us. Watch out to see what we get up to.
       
      Please be aware that due to this, Achievement Assembly will start next week.
       
      Jean's Day
      Friday will once again be the day where we honour and remember Mrs O'Connor with Jean’s Day. Mrs O'Connor was our former Librarian and Midday Supervision, who suddenly passed away in August 2022. Her favourite colour was purple / lilac so we are asking our Clockhouse family to wear something of this colour in her honour along with non-uniform (PE will continue on this day). 
       
      Things to be aware of
      We are having a big push on tucking shirts in and taking pride in our appearance. The children are getting very good at this and thank them and you for your support in this. This also includes ensuring the children come to school in the correct PE uniform on PE Days, please help us with this.

    • Weekly reminders for week beginning 8th September 2025

      It was certainly lovely to welcome the children from Year 1 to Year 6 back to school as well as welcoming our Reception families for Stay and Play. The children certainly lived up to expectation and have taken returning to school in their stride. Their adaptability and resilience never ceases to amaze me. They settled so quickly into their classes with lots of learning taking place. 
       
      Reception and Nursery
      Welcome to our Reception and Nursery children who will be starting with us this week. We look forward to welcoming the children and their families to Clockhouse.

      Meet the Teacher
      Meet the Teacher continues. Teachers will be in classrooms straight after school and available until 4pm. Please do come and say hello and see your child's classroom. We apologise for the date change for Brazil (Year 3). These are as follows:
      Tuesday 9th September - Year 5
      Wednesday 10th September - Year 3 (Peru and Argentina)
      Thursday 11th September - Year 1 and Year 3 (Brazil)
      Friday 12th September - Year 4
      Please remember
      As you know jewellery is not permitted in school. Please ensure children do not come to school wearing this. This includes earrings which should not be worn for school for health and safety reasons.
       
      Things to be aware of
      Following the success of last year, we will be continuing with Achievement Assembly on a Monday to get the week off to a fabulous start. On Monday we will be spending time talking about expectations and how rewards can be earned.
       
      The Reading Raffle is back again - when reading with your child at home, please send the teacher a message on Class Dojo or fill in their Reading Diary so that the teacher knows they have read and the children can be awarded with a raffle ticket and entered into the weekly draw. 
       
      Hot Chocolate with the Head continues, children will celebrate with me on a weekly basis should they win this award. You will get a call if your child has won to ensure they have permission for this.
       
      Please also remember that if children bring things to school, this is done so at your own risk (unless we have directly asked you to do so).
       
      Swimming for Year 4 starts next Monday (15th September). Please ensure they have the necessary equipment ready.

    • Weekly reminders for week beginning 1st September 2025

      Welcome back to the new school year everyone!
       
      We all hope that you have had and are still having a fantastic Summer Holiday and enjoyed lots of time with family and friends. We are looking forward to hearing about all your adventures and what you have all been up to.

      As you are aware the staff were back at school tomorrow (Monday) and will be again on Tuesday, getting the school ready for the children's return. We are very much looking forward to welcoming the children from Year 1 to Year 6 on Wednesday with Nursery and Reception following in due course. We hope that you are all excited to return. 
       
      Please do remember that correct School Uniform and PE Uniform should be worn on the appropriate days. A message will be sent on Dojo with regard to PE days.
       
      Walking Home (Year 4 to Year 6)
      Those children in Year 4 to 6 who had permission to leave classrooms on their own last year will be allowed to leave as they did last term for this week, unless we are told otherwise. A new permission letter will be coming home on Wednesday for children in Year 4 to Year 6 (as per the letter sent out to some year groups prior to the summer break), the new list will take effect from Monday 8th September.
       
      Welcome Back Week
      This week is Welcome Back Week where the children will be concentrating on the basic skills they will need to make this year as successful as possible for them as well as thinking about their learning behaviours and the school values to help them have a successful year. We will also be also be having a 'Booknic' to excite the children about reading as the new term starts.
       
      Reception
      Welcome to our Reception children who have their Stay and Play on Friday. We look forward to welcoming the children and their families to Clockhouse and you joining Our Clockhouse Family.
       
      Year 2 and Year 4
      Children in Year 2 and 4 have and exciting VR expeirence coming to school on Thursday to launch their new topic learning. 

      Meet the Teacher
      As many of you know, normally during this time we hold short 'Meet the Teacher' sessions. Dates are on the school calendar but we start this week with Year 6 on Friday. A letter with all dates will be posted later in the week. 
       
      Online Reading and Maths resources to use at home
      Please remember that Spelling Shed and Times Table Rock Stars, the online programmes that we subscribe to, are available for the children. If you cannot remember your password please speak to your child’s class teacher who will be able to reissue it to you .
       
      Class Dojo
      If you have not yet signed into Class Dojo please ask your class teacher for your login details. If you have a new phone or device and need the password again to access the Dojo please also ask, it really is  such a helpful and valuable communication tool for us and you as well as a way of celebrating your children's achievements in school. Following the success of last year, we will only be sending home paper letters in exceptional circumstances and we are sure you do not want to miss anything.

      And just like that we are in the last week of the term! Where has the year gone.
      It was lovely to welcome you all into school last week for the different events I hope you enjoyed Sports Day and Open Evening.
       
      So here we go with the final few days...
       
      Year 6
      Year 6 are very much looking forward to continuing with their Activity Week this week and they have lots of exciting things planned. Please speak to teachers if you have any questions. 
       
      We look forward to welcoming families to their Leavers Assembly on Monday at 9.15am - tissues at the ready. Parents are invited for refreshments in the School Canteen with the Year 6 staff after the event on Tuesday. 
       
      We are very much looking forward to welcoming the children back to school on Monday evening for ClockFest 2025!

    • Weekly reminders for week beginning 14th July 2025

      It was another busy week as we get closer to the end of the year!
       
      Thank you to the parents and families who joined us on the last week for the Celebration Assemblies of Brazil, Argentina, Northern Ireland and Wales, we are sure you will agree they were a lovely occasion.
       
      We hope you enjoyed reading your child's school report and were proud to read about their year. Please do send the feedback sheets back if you have not done so already. Also may I take this opportunity to thank all those who completed the online questionnaire. Your feedback is certainly very valuable to us!
       
      Meet the Teacher
      The children will be meeting their new teacher on Monday morning and spending time in their new classrooms. We are sure they are all very excited about this - the staff certainly are! 

      Open Evening
      Do not forget that it is Open Evening after school on Monday, please come into school anytime between 3.30 and 5pm to look at the children's work and meet the teachers. Please also take the time to look around the school and visit your child's new classroom, their current teacher will be able to point you in the right direction. All new teachers will be in school to meet you.
       
      Sports Days
      On Tuesday morning (9.15am) we look forward to welcoming families to the Key Stage 2 Sports Day. On Wednesday (9.15am) we look forward to welcoming Key Stage 1 families to Sports Day. On Thursday we look forward to welcoming families to the Reception and Nursery to Sports Day. Times are as follows - Nursery (11.00am / 2.45pm), Reception (9.15am). Here is hoping the weather is kind to us! It does look like it is going to be hot, please ensure children have hats, water bottles and sun cream applied.
       
      Year 6
      We  look forward to welcoming the families of our Year 6 stars on Tuesday for their performance of Oliver. Please be aware that performances will start promptly at 2pm and 7pm.
       
      Year 6 are very much looking forward to their Activity Week which starts this week. They have lots of exciting things planned. Please speak to teachers if you have any questions. They are off to Adventure Island on Thursday. 
       
      Year 5 and 6
      Year 5 and 6 will be competing in the annual Football Cup - the Matthew Whitcombe trophy (in honour of our former pupil) on Friday.
       
      Foundation Stage Fun Day
      On Friday we have the Foundation Stage Pirates and Princesses Fun Day to look forward to, do not forget the fancy dress costumes although these are optional!

      Well last week was another very busy week at Clockhouse - just the way we like it and this week is just the same as we get closer to the end of the year! 
       
      Thank you to the parents and families who joined us on the last week for the Celebration Assemblies of Kenya, Peru, Spain and Scotland, we are sure you will agree they were a lovely occasion and we look forward to seeing more of you at these events during the term.

      School Reports
      Please be aware that your child's annual school report will be coming out via Dojo after school on Monday. If you would like a paper copy please do let teachers or the office know. For those in Reception, Year 1 and some of Year 2 -  your child will also come home with an envelope with the statutory tests results in them.
       
      Should you wish to discuss your child’s report with myself or the class teacher, arrangements for this will be communicated with you before the end of term or can happen on 15th July at Open Evening.
       
      Year 6 results will be coming after they are received (9th July) and then checked. We will get these out to you as soon as we can.
       
      End of Year Questionnaire - please help us help you!
      Thank you to all those who have completed the end of year questionnaire already, which provides us with some great information about the school. If you have not done so already, please do take the time to complete it by following the link below (you have until Friday 11th July to complete it):
       
      Sponsored Walk
      On Monday the children (and parents if they wish) will be taking part in the Sponsored Walk event, following the success of this in previous years. The children will come home with a card showing you the laps they completed so that sponsor money can be gathered or it can be kept as a memento of the day. If the children have managed to get any sponsors, please send these into school and thank you for your support.

      Well last week was another very busy week at Clockhouse - just the way we like it and this week is just the same as we get closer to the end of the year! 
       
      Thank you to the parents and families who joined us on the last week for the Celebration Assemblies of Uganda and Italy, we are sure you will agree they were a lovely occasion and we look forward to seeing more of you at these events during the term.
       
      Uniform Sale
      Mrs Bowden will be holding a uniform sale on Monday after school. This will be by the door between Spain and Italy. Please be aware this is new uniform, but stocks are limited and will be on a first come first served basis. All items will be reduced by at least 10%.
       
      End of Year Questionnaire - please help us help you!
      Thank you to all those who have completed the end of year questionnaire already, which provides us with some great information about the school. If you have not done so already, please do take the time to complete it by following the link below (you have until Friday 11th July to complete it):
       
      Celebration Assemblies
      Celebration Assemblies continue this week, please check back through School Story on Dojo or speak to class teachers if you are unsure of the date for your child's class.

      Wednesday 2nd July - Kenya (9.10am) Key Stage 2 Hall
      Wednesday 2nd July - Spain (2.50pm) Key Stage 1 Hall
      Friday 4th July - Peru (9.10am) Key Stage 2 Hall
      Friday 4th July - Scotland (2.45pm) Key Stage 1 Hall
       
      We look forward to welcoming you to school to celebrate with your children.
       
      Year 5
      Year 5 are off to Bower Park on Thursday to watch a drama production. If you have not returned permission slips yet, please do so by Monday. They will also be welcoming Mr Brown from Bower Park on Friday to do some art activities with them.
       
      Greenland
      We are very excited that Greenland are off to Elhap on Wednesday. Please complete permission slips and payment for the trip on Monday if you have not done so already.
       
      Things to be aware of
      Our annual Sponsored Walk is on 7th July, it is always lovely to see so many of you join us. Annual School Reports will be coming out via Dojo on 7th July also.
